Micro-blogging for music lovers

TWITTER is cool, but if you like listening to music while you surf and micro-blog, you might want to check out Blip.

I previously blogged about Blip, which allows you to let people know what you’re listening to and share the music with them by embedding an MP3 in your Blip update.

In an e-mail interview, I talked to Jeff Yasuda, CEO of Fuzz.com, the company behind Blip.

Cruising with the HTC Touch Cruise

07/01/08

Posted under Gadgets, HTC, Mobile

FOR two weeks, I was in touch with my inner Windows Mobile child, thanks to the HTC Touch Cruise that I was reviewing. I enjoyed the brief fling, and will now think more fondly again of Windows Mobile devices, considering that I haven’t used a Windows-based gadget as my personal phone since my old O2 XDA II.

Here’s a photo of Mikaela, my MacBook Pro (well, the MacBook Pro the office assigned to me, anyway; yeah, I still use Windows on my Mac for some of my tasks via Boot Camp), saying goodbye to the HTC Touch Cruise. It was nice syncing and Bluetoothing with you while it lasted.

The first thing you’ll notice about the HTC Touch Cruise is its sleek design and that big 2.8 inch LCD screen, which is a boon if you’re after multimedia. As the name makes clear, however, this isn’t meant to be ogled, but to be touched. I’ve always gotten a kick out of touchscreen devices (but no, I don’t have an iPhone or an iPod Touch yet, heh), and thanks to my Nintendo DS, which now belongs to my six-year-old daughter Sam, I’m pretty comfy using a stylus as an input device.

Don’t just tweet it… blip it

TWITTER asks you: “What are you doing?” Blip, however, not only allows you to microblog, but also asks: “What are you listening to?”

Photobucket

You can let people know which music you’re listening to at the moment by searching for the MP3 on the site, and then blipping it, which automatically includes the song in your update. Other users can then click on your blip to play the song, and if they like it, they can then buy the song on Amazon.com. You can check out the profile I created.

It’s an interesting service which is still in beta. Blip is actually part of Fuzz.com, which aims to help music lovers keep track of their favorite bands and share music with their friends, while allowing artists to promote their music. You can upload songs you’ve purchased to your music library or choose from Fuzz’s playlists, create mixtapes, blog, add photos, list events, and write local news.

Check out Blip if you love music, and see if it’s a good alternative while Twitter is still erratic :)

Are you a WWE fan? Check out WWE Fan Nation

DO you love World Wrestling Entertainment? Then join the WWE Fan Nation online community and interact with other wrestling fans.

Right now, WWE Fan Nation doesn’t offer as many community tools as I’d like — why not provide widgets that fans can easily add to their profiles, for one — but then again it’s still a beta site and some features are coming soon, like videos.

Some of the things you can do now include creating your own blog, uploading photos and joining groups.

So if you’re a WWE fan, give me a “Hell yeah,” head on over to WWE Fan Nation and maybe stop by the profile I set up just now :) I’m curious, I know the WWE has a lot of fans in the Philippines, so how many Pinoys are already on WWE Fan Nation?
