OUR Eleksyon 2007 podcast recording sessions are private affairs, not press conferences which are open to the public or members of other publications. Which is why we’re surprised that representatives from other media outlets have gone to the INQUIRER.net office on several occasions.
To prevent these intrusions, we’ve indicated clearly in the letter of invitation we send to candidates who will guest on our podcasts that this is a private affair. Which is why I was surprised to find members of other media outlets once more inside the INQUIRER.net office during the recording of Mike Defensor’s podcast this afternoon.
Here are two videos of the GMA Network and ABC 5 reporters and TV crew members waiting to ambush Defensor after his podcast interview.

How unfortunate that the two titans of news media, Philippine Daily Inquirer and GMA News & Public Affairs, have gone separate ways. Probably this is the net effect of convergence. It is probably better that heads of the two groups should take time to cool off and hopefully meet later to mend and return together as one. Sayang naman. Inq7.net is already an established name in the Internet.

hi jenny, thanks for your e-mail.
because some of the candidates and their pr people were the ones inviting other media outlets. they wouldn’t have known about our podcasts otherwise because obviously we weren’t inviting members of other media organizations.
cheers!

You wrote “To prevent these intrusions, we’ve indicated clearly in the letter of invitation we send to CANDIDATES …”
If you had wanted to exclude the MEDIA from the podcasts, what was the use of sending your message of exclusivity to the CANDIDATES?

GMA7 didn’t mentioned that the podcast interview was done in inqurier.net’s office? Can’t they give a little respect or acknowledgement to inquirer? shame on you GMA7!
No attribution? Wow. What a bunch of losers.

What the… are these guys (GMA7 reporters) educated??? I saw the podcast interview on GMA7 a few weeks ago, and I thought they are the ones who operated it. GMA7 didn’t mentioned that the podcast interview was done in inqurier.net’s office? Can’t they give a little respect or acknowledgement to inquirer? shame on you GMA7!
