IT was a great experience watching the Manny Pacquiao-Jorge Solis fight via Smart 3G and doing the INQUIRER.net Running Account of this bout (this is my first sports Running Account, as opposed to the Estrada impeachment trial, People Power 2 and other political Running Accounts I did before).
Manny kayoed his Mexican opponent, and server traffic actually also kayoed our Running Account, heh — it was erratic, so the account was unavailable to some readers if they were accessing the servers that went down – though our homepage is still standing and we’ve broken Pacquiao’s 8th round knockout victory as our headline.
I have to admit I’m impressed with how well the Smart 3G feed held up — we were all keeping our fingers crossed. The biggest scare we got was when the feed got disconnected as Pacquiao and Solis were being introduced, but fortunately I was able to reconnect after a few minutes.
By the way, “congressman” chants from Pacquiao supporters broke out after his postfight interview. Hmm…

To ALL Filipinos ( Mga Kababayan),
What more we can say, Manny-”Pacman” is a “Hero” for our generation and a history for our country in the years ahead. The reasons are:
1.During his fights, crime and corruptions were zeroed down to the level, including the fighting in the military and the rebels.
2.He brought-up the HONOR and prestige of the Philippines all over the WORLD, and help the name “Filipinos” te be respected by other nationalities( not like before, our image was low ).
3.He became an Icon to be defeated by ALL latino boxers ( Mexican,Puerto Rico, eyc..). He is like M. Ali,who brought honor to Boxing as an international sports.
4.He is the only Filipino Icon today, a product of the POWER OF PRAYERS and HUMILITY.
5.He is an envy to the POLITICIANS who could hardly win, and spend much money to WIN an election.
6.He has the control of the Boxing-arena together with his trainers, and coach.
7.He is a very smart boxer who spent hard $ earned wisely, to a maximum purpose by uplifting the elder filipino boxers, his family, the community and the whole nation.
9.He became a dream of many youngsters to follow a dream in bringing HONOR to the nation.
10.He is being respected by presidents of other nations, not only the Philippines (GMA).
About his political dream, ( God said, avoid “pre-judging”. Who knows, he may bring changes as he brought the change of events in an international boxing history. I could sense, he is fast learner and very smart ).One of our FILIPINO trait or mistakes, as weak a point, WE “ALWAYS JUDGE THE end-RESULT” or jump into the final conclusion, but we can hardly analyze or judge, IF WE ARE BEING CHEATED ALONG THE WAY?…resulting in the multiple EDSA revolution…My analysis, why don’t we try him from his HUNGER TO SERVE..we had tried anyway ALL the trapos and the intellectuals and the lawyers (liar’s ). Maybe we can try a HITTER-a puncher, a boxer, a PACMAN…This is my personal feeling about his social innovation ( politics ) in his home province or the country.

Manny, listen to your mother, to your wife and to your conscience. Avoid politics.
