AND in the latest installment of “Gadgets that Inspire Technolust,” Smart has announced that it is launching the BlackBerry 8800 smart phone.

Here’s an excerpt from INQUIRER.net reporter Lawrence Casiraya’s story:

MANILA, Philippines –Mobile operator Smart Communications has announced plans to offer the Blackberry 8800 smart phone starting May.

Smart will offer the accompanying Blackberry e-mail service along with the Blackberry 8800, the thinnest Blackberry device offered by Canadian manufacturer Research in Motion (RIM).

The Blackberry 8800 is also the first to feature built-in GPS (global positioning service). It also has a full QWERTY keyboard, multimedia capabilities, and a microSD expandable memory slot.
