Microsoft hearts Yahoo?

02/02/08

Posted under Internet, Microsoft, Yahoo!

MICROSOFT and Yahoo! have discussed a possible partnership before, but now Yahoo!’s woes and Microsoft’s unsolicited $44.6-billion bid to buy the Internet portal might mean this scenario is just that much closer to becoming a reality.

How do you feel about a Microsoft-Yahoo! (Microhoo?) merger? Do you think that would  make Yahoo! cool again, and that it would finally make Microsoft cool? :)

Anyway, you can also check out INQUIRER.net reporter Erwin Oliva’s story, “Yahoo! board responds to Microsoft bid.”

While this will definitely place Microsoft in a position to go head to head against Google, it will probably never happen. Not at $44.6 billion, at least.

if this happen, i would expected the yahoo popularity to go down with microsoft, well, admit it or not, Microsoft is a convicted monopoly, that and with its malpractice will certainly put yahoo in a lot more image problem. But i would expect yahoo to have some big financial boost if this continue.

If this would happen I may discontinue my yahoo mail and my ym, etc. And start using Google applications.

Hmm? I wonder what’s the next company that Microsoft will buy.

I heard MS already got friendster.

I think it’s just one of microsoft’s desperate move towards reclaiming the market from apple which is now extremely popular. What I think microsoft should do is address itself in making some productive and “working” OS rather than just buying company after company.
