Blogging the Philippine Blog Awards

- Blogosphere -

OK, finally we have wifi access hehe :) Was supposed to live blog, but anyway just took down notes on Word earlier.

We’re here at the Carlos Romulo Auditorium, Podium 4 of RCBC Plaza in Makati City for the Philippine Blog Awards.

Father Stephen Cuyos gave the invocation. He called on bloggers to use blogging for God’s work and to be “bloggers for truth.”

The event is being hosted by Aileen Apolo, Google Philippines country consultant, and Sasha of The Parody.

To kick off the awards ceremony, they showed a brief video clip featuring organizers Abe Olandres, Jayvee Fernandez and Gail dela Cruz-Villanueva.

Tech and Eleksyon 2007

- Blogosphere, Eleksyon 2007, Podcasts -

HERE’S an excerpt from an article written by Norman Bordadora that will come out in tomorrow’s edition of the Philippine Daily Inquirer:

Even for members of the media covering campaign trips, Internet service, preferably of the wireless kind, is now almost indispensable.

One of the questions first asked is whether their billeting arrangements include wi-fi and, if it has none, where the closest Internet shop with broadband capabilities is located.

The Genuine Opposition has made sure its new campaign headquarters on Ayala Avenue would have wi-fi-ready offices for reporters covering its candidates.

Googling Aileen Apolo

- Blogosphere, Google -

I HAD  a few drinks last night at Cafe Havana with INQUIRER.net product manager Meanne Bundalian, our interactive media consultant Jayvee Fernandez and Google Philippines country consultant Aileen Apolo.

Just a few drinks and friendly conversation, most of which is off the record, heh. If you have any doubts how active Aileen is, try Googling “Aileen Apolo.”

Or I can also point you in the direction of her work-related blog Stitching and her, er, The Twisted Wedding Planner blog. Trust me, it’s better if you just read it yourself.

Anyway, here’s what we laughingly referred t0 as my mutant pic with Aileen — check out my glowing eyes.
