Tech and Eleksyon 2007

- Blogosphere, Eleksyon 2007, Podcasts -

HERE’S an excerpt from an article written by Norman Bordadora that will come out in tomorrow’s edition of the Philippine Daily Inquirer:

Even for members of the media covering campaign trips, Internet service, preferably of the wireless kind, is now almost indispensable.

One of the questions first asked is whether their billeting arrangements include wi-fi and, if it has none, where the closest Internet shop with broadband capabilities is located.

The Genuine Opposition has made sure its new campaign headquarters on Ayala Avenue would have wi-fi-ready offices for reporters covering its candidates.

INQUIRER.net adds Google Earth map, surveys to election site

- Eleksyon 2007, INQUIRER.net -

TO FURTHER enhance our online coverage of the upcoming Philippine elections in May, we’ve beefed up our Eleksyon 2007 site by adding a Google Earth map and a survey section.

Set your own appointments, Old Media scavengers

- Eleksyon 2007, Media, Podcasts -

THANKS to Mike Abundo and Abe Olandres for blogging about the invasion the INQUIRER.net office is experiencing from other media outlets, namely broadcast networks GMA 7 and ABC 5.

Here’s an excerpt from Mike’s blog post “TV Reporters Scavenging YouTube Scraps“:

I hope the Inquirer can keep these vermin out of their building. The last thing this country needs is old media scavengers pulling down new media pioneers.

Thanks, Mike; actually it was more of Eleksyon 2007 podcast scraps, though we also take behind-the-scenes footage of the audio podcast recording sessions for our INQUIRER.net Videos YouTube channel. But yup, you used the perfect word, “scavenger.”
