HERE’S a video I took of Gun Suk Ling, VP of Asia Pacific of eEye Digital Security, as she talks about the company’s plans for the region.

It was great to meet Suk Ling, who’s scheduled to visit the Philippines soon. She was one of the speakers at theĀ Kickstart Asia 2007 information technology forum held on July 26 to 27 at the Nirwana Gardens resort in Bintan, Indonesia.

Filipino computer forensic analyst makes RP proud

ANOTHER Filipino has put our country on the map, this time by winning an international cybersecurity award.

Here’s an excerpt from INQUIRER.net reporter Erwin Oliva’s story on Alex Ramos’ achievement:

“(I am) happy that somehow some people still notice that we are good at something. I never even thought I would be chosen. I never even knew I was nominated,” Ramos said in an e-mail message to INQUIRER.net in reaction to getting the award.

WordPress 2.1.1 hacked, upgrade now

HERE’S an excerpt from Yuga’s post:

Everyone should have known about this exploit by this time but if you are running WordPress 2.1.1 from a download just several days ago, your WP blogs might have been compromised.

Here’s an excerpt from the WordPress advisory:

Long story short: If you downloaded WordPress 2.1.1 within the past 3-4 days, your files may include a security exploit that was added by a cracker, and you should upgrade all of your files to 2.1.2 immediately.

Upgrade to 2.1.2 now and help spread the word.
