My favorite Japanese psycho schoolgirl

I LOVED Chiaki Kuriyama as Gogo Yubari in “Kill Bill Vol. 1″ — Gogo was my second favorite character, next only to her mistress, O-Ren Ishii.
Here she is with Quentin Tarantino and Uma Thurman promoting “Kill Bill” in Tokyo back in 2003. Photo courtesy of Agence France-Presse.

Recently, I also got to watch the violent 2000 cult classic Japanese action film “Battle Royale,” and man did she rock as Takako Chigusa. It’s a great movie but highly controversial — and definitely not for the squeamish. I haven’t seen Chiaki’s other stuff yet, like her starring role in the original “Ju-on” — the very first one, which was direct-to-video, not “Ju-on: The Grudge,” which was the theatrical remake that spawned the US remake “The Grudge.”
Here’s a YouTube clip of her interview on the British show “Japanorama.” Warning: this and the “MPD Psycho” clip embedded here contain scenes of graphic violence.
