AT LEAST, that’s what Singapore is thinking. Then again, the Lion City is one of the world’s most technologically-advanced nations.

SINGAPORE–Blogs are replacing blackboards as Singapore moves high-technology into its classrooms as teaching tools, newspapers reported Wednesday.
Under the FutureSchools@Singapore program, blogs, video-conferencing, tablet PCs, podcasts, 3-D software and interactive whiteboards will be available for learning, The Straits Times reported.
Five schools in the city state have been selected to pioneer the use of innovative teaching methods that harness info-communication technologies (ICT), the education ministry confirmed in a press release.

that would be cool! at least if they implement it in other places like my school, no one, especially my professor, will be offended if i am using my laptop on his class. (surprisingly, i feel that i am offending him because he is thinking that i am just accessing sites and not really listening to him, which is half true) =)

I believe we can slowly start it here in the Philippines but we should take in to account the capabilities and capacity of both our schools and students in using this medium. My research found out that although our students are willing to use the meduim as a supplement to school lessons they are not willing to substitute it to the classroom environment. We should also take into account how many percentage of students have access to the technology.

cool. . .but this should not replace the traditional set-up of the classroom. . .it can supplement but definitely not substitute. . .oh by the way i’m speaking for the philippines, singapore can have it hehehe
