APART from blog entries and photos of the Glorietta 2 blast, citizen journalists have also uploaded video clips to sites such as YouTube.

Here are two such clips from a concerned citizen that Tonyo Cruz uploaded to YouTube — thanks to Tonyo for the heads up.

Here’s the first clip.

And here’s the second clip.

Here’s a clip from verin18.

And here are two clips from inthethickofthings.

Here’s the first clip.

And here’s the second clip:

Tonyo also blogged about citizen journalism in action in the Glorietta 2 blast for Global Voices Online.

Here’s an excerpt:

Manuel L. Quezon III rounded up first-hand accounts, initial reactions and updates. Also taking note of furious blogging about the bombing was Blog Addicts. In fact, Inquirer came out with a special site on the incident.

Photos of the crime scene or disaster area taken and posted by Disney Cute Land are now all over the internet, including the frontpage of the country most popular news website.

Whoever cause this incident will suffer.

It is easy for anyone to lay blame on the Makati blast to any individual or groups. Investigations by authorities should condunct investigation in a much thorough manner to avoid becouding the whole truth about the incident. At a time like this, it takes careful investigation without dragging the innocents.

i got to view one of the blogged videos of this incident and saw that it caused a huge hole on the floor of the lobby entrance of G2. if an explosive device was really placed at this point of the complex, the damage would be greater as shock waves are radial in nature. it is highly probable that ground zero may be really located at the basement of the complex. most injuries sustained by the blast victims were caused mainly by shattered glass and falling debris consequential to the explosion. it might be worthy to note the actual (or at least the general) locations (before the blast and after) of those who died of the actual blast (those who have indicative blast burns, etc) to have further clues as to where and the magnitude of the blast. physics could play a role in determining this. i just hope that when the basement area is drained off of the accumulated water (please collect drained water as clues may be actually also there, use a strainer or something…), ground zero wouldn’t be compromised. this way we could know what caused the explosion - accidental, work-related, unsafe industrial/warehousing practices, terrorist or whatever.
