MAKATI City, Philippines — Senator Manuel Roxas III is taking his online presence further.
Aside from his official website, an e-forum and accounts in social networking sites, Roxas has finally opened his own blog and is setting up his own virtual rally to further promote his advocacies.
Roxas’ other websites include one that is about his official function as senator. He also has entries in Facebook.com, Friendster.com and MySpace.com.
Roxas who uses the handle “misterpalengke” launched his official blog last August 1, after meeting up with bloggers in Quezon City. It appears, however, that he made his first posting on July 27.
So far, there are three blog entries, though the last two entries were written by “Kael”, a staff member of Roxas, and “Susan”, a former staff member.
Meanwhile, Roxas’s Virtual Rally site is still undergoing final revisions but the main page is already readable. One of his staff members said in an interview that they will soon finish working on the site.
The virtual rally, created in Adobe Flash, is aimed at gathering a virtual crowd to peacefully protest different issues. People can use avatars to represent themselves in the rallies.
So far, there are 111 members of the virtual rally and the main topic for now is the fuel price hike.

You are young, intelligent and I admired your Father. He was a good man. Unlike Gloria she destroyed completely all Macapagal”s and Arroyo”s good name. The opposition must make a stand now. 2010 is a big question mark!!! Do you think all these crocodiles in the government, will not do anything to continue their power???? Since, Ramos and Gloria we did not have an honest election,do you think, with all their power in place ,they will just give up????? All Filipinos must think now. Thank you.

SENATOR MAR ROXAS
Let me see what you as Senator can do about this problem.
A long swat of highway in Samar are being demolish for the supposed rehabilitation. What I have observe is that, the same process which brought about the inferior quality of the original Highway which deteriorated, whereby large chunks of road concrete brakes down because their was no strong foundation under nit the concrete overlay. The foundation of a highway should be a minimum of 18 inches of large rocks and gravel, and compacted.
At present, the same inferior method, if not short of cheating, is being done on the Samar Highway. They use soil, with thin layer of undersize gravel as foundation. When will they ever learn to stop cheating in the construction of our national road?
This project will cost the Filipino people billions of pesos and all will be wasted because of the quality of the construction. The life span of the national road, once completed is but very short.
You start from here, Honorable Senator.
