OK, so what should be the rules for diplomats who blog?

Ian Proud, a 38-year-old British diplomat in Bangkok, caused a furor with his blog that shared what he thought were “harmless” stories about his life in Thailand.

The Traveling Blogger: Episode One

JUST call me the wifi bandit.

My blogging addiction has taken me on all kinds of adventures — from almost missing a flight because I was too busy posting at the Hong Kong airport to being kicked out of an Internet cafe by a Middle Eastern family in a quiet street in Dusseldorf, Germany.

But this is the closest I have come to actually committing a crime because of my addiction.

My friend Tina lent me her new apartment during my recent trip to Singapore. A trip which only had one purpose: to stalk the beautiful Rachael Yamagata.

Rediscover the Philippines through blogs

NUMEROUS travel blogs are out there. But an interesting blog called Philippine GPS Users mixes tech and travel blogging.

Currently maintained by Earl Robles, a techie and former executive at Narra Ventures, the blog is actually his proof of concept of a “voice navigated turn-by-turn In-Car GPS.”

In an e-mail, Robles said the device is “programmed into a standard din-size device which can be installed in cars.”
