Blogger Beer is an American blogger whose been keeping tabs on the Michael Ray Aquino and Leandro Aragoncillo security leak cases. He remarks that the latest news indicates Michael Ray Aquino has a good lawyer (and wonders whose paying the fees) and in one of his old entries calls the case, “in US terms a small story.” Nevertheless, it’s one that’s received significant local media attention.
The Center for Advanced Counterintelligence, Counterterrorism and Security Training has a thorough online dossier on the two, with links to documents and news stories.

I pity Leandro Agoncillo. He is such a nice guy but so naive. He threw away his career and the future of his family for the sake of helping Pres. Erap and the opposition. I wonder if he was promise payment for the info to pay his debt after PGMA ouster.

Regarding, this man who pitied Leandro Agoncillo, I pitied him more. He may not realized how the man invested so much about his job. Let us give the benefit of the doubt to Mr. Agoncillo, afterall there must be valid reason if not so much belief in his job, even sacrificing his own family as the letter sender implies. Let the justice system take its course, afterall the case is being heard in the U.S. perhaps the jury is not corrupt.

For all his being a former member of the Marine Corps, and 24 years serving under the American Flag, it seems Mr. Aragoncillo still does not know what “loyalty” means.
He took his oath as citizen of the United States, and swore to be loyal to that country, long before dual citizenship came
on the scene.
On the other hand, being more realistic, his financial history could account for his treason. Because that is what it is.
Treason.
And not to put the entire blame on Mr. Aragoncillo, the FBI or the counterintelligence units of the US should have been monitoring their members’ financial accountabilities and histories a little more closely. That was pretty basic.

Salamat Po Manolo, para sa iyong callout!
I am glad my little blog is getting some attention!
Yeah, the implications of this case are much bigger sa Bayan ninyo than bayan ko because it is directly tied into the fight between PGMA & those trying to oust her. However, once it became clear to the US political opposition they could not tie this to President Bush’s administration the story disappeared in US News.
In fact, I only know when something is happening when I notice an increase in Aragoncillo or Aquino Google search referrals landing on Blogger Beer.
As you note the New Jersey news site http://www.nj.com is following the story, but that is because it is a local story there. Here in the Upper Midwest? Only for those willing to seek it out.
Salamat!
