JUST a quick thought. Whether anyone likes it or not, the next presidential campaign begins on June 30, 2007 when the new batch of senators join the 14th Congress. While the counting isn’t over, the top six or so senatorial rankings seem beyond dispute, and among them are some candidates being discussed as presidential aspirants. What does their senatorial victory tell us about their presidential prospects? I’ve linked the survey results graphs for each candidate.
1. Loren Legarda: Was her vote purely on her own merits, or a sympathy vote for 2004? And the real question is: even as the senatorial top-notcher, is the country prepared for another female president?
2. Chiz Escudero: Phenomenal popularity and a marvelously efficient campaign. The man to watch, particularly as the country’s going through one of its periodic generational shifts. But too young to be president?
3. Ping Lacson: He held his own, but didn’t make major gains. He proved he has a solid constituency that will vote for him, consistently. But there wasn’t any “cross-over,” and he hasn’t proven he can attract additional support.
4. Manny Villar: The biggest loser, in terms of his presidential prospects. A lackluster campaign, massive spending for ads but not enough bang for the buck; he hoped the Vice-President’s endorsement would help, but the Vice-President serves with an administration that got rejected in terms of the national vote. The Vice-President endorsed Ralph Recto, too, and it didn’t seem to help, either. And he has to retain the senate presidency.

93 Feedbacks on "Presidentiables among the senatoriables"

Year 2010 is still far, let us see what they senators (Presidentiables) performances for a year. Katatapos lang ng election and its respite time sa politica naman.

I think Allan Peter Cayetano can become president someday. he have balls.

Escudero would be a good bet for the next president. Young but with his good
name, he is a better choice than other presidentiables. Wish Legarda would be Vice President, but would she like to be?

Although 2010 is still far to go I have made my choice. I will go for Ping Lacson. He is the man to consider if we want a real change in the country. Most of my fellow OFW will agree on this. Villar is my second choice. He has the political machinery to be a presidentiable. Anyone that will be endorsed by the administration is doom to fail especially if the Arroyo government will push for a charter change. It will be a political suicide to have an endorsement from Arroyo.
Mike
The next opposition candidate for president is not among the senators - it will be Jojo Binay, with Chiz as his running mate! GO!!!

1. legarda - i don’t think she is ripe. i don’t think the country is prepared for her. she should set her sights on the vice-president position again.
2. escudero - too young is correct. he needs experience in the executive and should run against legarda for vice-president.
3. lacson - may be what the country needs. if he can win. which is mathematically possible.
4. villar - the brown taipan. if he can run the country like his businesses then we’re in for better times.
my opinions. i may be right. or wrong.

Please stop using the words “presidentiables, senatoriables” etc., because they are not proper. This is a “cold blooded murder of the English tongue” (to borrow the words from “My Fair Lady”).
Ping should be it, as far as “presidentiables” (it sucks, really this word) are concerned. We need someone stern.
Thanks.

Mar Roxas will be my bet come May 2010 Presidential Elections.
romeo de leon
2010 is still very far. arroyo will do everything in his power to extend her presidency either by amending the charter or declaring emergency rule.
from the looks of it, we have some presidentiables that give better prospect for the country. some of them are lacson, roxas, villar or better still, trillanes.
Roberto Duran
pre, paki-tuloy nga yung analysis mo.. all the way to Angara and Arroyo naman para me TU din. salamat ah, sir!
mlq3
roberto, ang problema kasi, si joker 80 na. di naman siguro viable para mgpresidente ang senador na 83 years old by 2010? ang problema ng tu, wala nga silang viable candidate, sa ngayon, for president.
thank you to everyone for your comments, it’s interesting, i think, to compare notes on how everyone feels about particular leaders.

Ping Lacson would be the best for this country. I hope he will run again for President. We need someone a leader like the one in Singapore, US, Britain, Japan among other nations… with conviction and forceful when it comes to their principles… may it be popular or unpopular for as long as for the good of all their countrymen.

The biggest gainer in this election as far as presidential prospect is concerned is mar roxas and the liberal party. Loren will be a soft sell for Vice President but hard sell to be President. Chiz is still the future and too young for the executive level three years from now. Ping Lacson must have realized by now that the presidnecy is beyond him already. He doesn’t have the base votes for it. If the Vice President will continue to behave as the advocate of the Arroyo administration he too will suffer the consequence. He has seen it already, Recto is being punished because of sins of the Arroyo administration. And in all these, “hoy!hoy!hoy!” looks in tack. If by chance the God’s will enlighten loren to run as vice of mar roxas, that will be the knock out combination. Metro Manila Luzon Votes plus Visayas and Mindanao Ilongo votes will be solidly for this team.

It is too early to jump the gun, let us not be carried away by the impressive numbers posted in the election result. Let us keep stock of their individual achievements during their tenure in office. Then and only then shall we decide to whom we shall entrust the future of our nation; to the one who can steer our country towards economic growth/prosperity. Bearing in mind what they had so arduously professed during their campaign, lest we forget and suffer the same faith. The malady that ails our country is that we as citizen are too to fragmented in our ideals; we form to protect the very individuals that cause us harm, in hindsight we are the cause of all our miseries. So let us take this 3 years or so as an opportunity to weed out those who do not deserve to be President, and to elect a rightful one. Then I believe that we shall all reap the benefits of our knowledgeable choice.
Meek Sabal
Senator Villar is no different from other turncoats and trapos. Didn’t he manipulate parliamentary procedures to get Erap impeached in 2001 when it was popular to be anti Erap? Then in last in the senatorial campaign went to Erap’s arms when it was convenient to so. Meek Sabal, Jolo, Sulu.

In choosing for 2010 President, Filipinos should look upon the performance of the possible candidates, their loyalty and dedication towards our country, their ability to run the government and their knowledge in economy and charisma to attaract investors. Most of you are just saying without thinking. please think something positive, let’s see first who will be will be based on the above-mentioned qualities. I don’t want to have a president who will dropped the value of PESO.

among the winning senatorial candidates you mentioned during the last election…i’d rather go for my ’sistah’ ping lacson..in terms of balls, he has all the qualities needed as a leader of our nation…setting aside ‘rumors’ of d old paoctf days… as a former chief pnp, he was able to instill discipline to the law enforcement community… no kotong cops…no taba cops… less crime rate and put the pnp on top of the situation. yes, we need people with an iron hand and has strong political will to do things for the country…2010 is still far, we still have to see these winning senatorial candidates not ’senatoriables’ perform at the senate hall…we still have to see how they will craft and pass appropriate and pro poor measures..we dont wanna waste our time watching these people at the halls of senate debating to nonsense topics and arguments in ‘aid of legislation’ thing…. we need action oriented senators!

Whoever the media mogul, the Lopez oligarch choose will become the next president of this country. The daily barrage of accusation of cheating must be true because the opposition are winning in their bailiwick but if the TU wins there is failure of election.

How about Sonny Belmonte of Quezon City?
Karpentero
I am tired and sick of politics in our country. Candidates will do anything and everything just to be in power - for what? For the money. Millions of pesos are being wasted by the Congressmen and Senators for their Countryside Development Fund.
In the first place, they are elected to make laws and not to make projects. That is the work of the Executive Department. NO where in the world is corruption prevalent than here in the Philippines.
And speaking of corruption - people who are complaining are not even taxpayers. So where is involvement and integrity.
Maglalatik
Manny Pangilinan,Joey Concepcion or Robina Gokongwei zino pa!
mabuhay
I don’t think that the current set of Sentors and Leaders are fit to save our country.Given the fact these people are recycled, you would not expect anything different. The saying goes, same trapos elected will do the same thing. but filipinos expect them to have different result. What a joke.
Legarda,Escudero, Lacson and Villar are populist that does not have balls to think and decide for what is right for country. They have the balls to fight for things that tye feel will increase their popularity for the next election.
The senate as a law as making body is redundant and have passed its effectiveness. Imagine, with two chambers fighting together on basis negative side of a legislation and not on merit. They are all inutils and pretending to inteligent.
After all hoops and positive comments from Media that Filipinos have matured in terms of selecting leaders. My guess is not. The kind of leader elected in the current electoral execrise prove we are still no where in that position.
Fast forward, i do not see any positive things that will happen to improve the livelihood of the Filipinos based on the recent election result. I would expect politicking will be more intense as presidential election is coming in 3 years time. we will have another sarsuela and again the Filipinos will wake up with no positive things to look forward to.
I miss Marcos without Imelda and her opportunistic allies.
None of them proved their capabilities.
I hope that someday some one will use the KAMAY na bakal to clean the mess that these POLITICIANS have done.
I would prefer to have a Goverment Running on BENEVOLENT Dictatorship that will fight for the real rights of the FILIPINO people to have a decent food in every meal, proper education and health, freedom from any harm and persecution and right to live peacefully. This is not a dream, Many Asain countires succeed because of Strong Leadership., South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore some of the may example in our region.
But the Philippines, we are still struggling despite our so-called 100 years of independence and our claimed to the most Democratic Country Asia.
NAKAKAAWA TAYO, Imagine the congress and Senate as well as other local governments are run people who does not even know what is right and wrong.

Ping Lacson to me is still the best bet for the presidency. It is just unfortunate that politics is so dirty that the issues thrown on him are so muddled. In his time in the Senate, he proved that he is above all these issues. He is so focused on his advocacy: fight graft and corruption and show others that he can be a good model for his own advocacy. Ping is so disciplined. Maybe at this stage of our political life, Ping will be able to pull us through. He has the kind of leadership that inspires, the man is just so down to earth.
Pepe
i think Ping Lacson will make some difference if he will be elcted as the next President.
kailangan natin ng Lee Kuan Yew type of leader who will impose death penalty to drug traffickers and stiff penalty to corrupt public officials.

The initial results of the still, unconcluded elections as far as Senators is concerned will not in any way, can be use as a litmus test on who will be the opposition’s strongest contender in 2010 presidential elections.
We can expect for possible infightings amongst the ranks of the opposition. ‘Am very sure that Erap will, again have a very big say on who will be their presidential standard bearer, to mention that he has still the clout and money which is very important in an election.
If anyone among Legarda, Lacson and Villar will ever run for the presidency, my humble supposition is that they will not get the same sympathy in terms of votes as what they got from the last senatorial election.
For me, it’s very clear that Legarda and Villar are traditional chameleons, balimbings and political opportunists. They will do everything just for their self preservations in terms of politics. Villar will do everything to be in the limelight of politics because he has a business empire to protect.
It was public knowledge that these two took a big part in bolting Erap from the presidency; but what they are doing now?!! Kanino bang “Pundiyo” sila nakakabit???
For me, Ping Lacson or Mr. “expose’” will not make it also to the presidency. Baka puro imbestigasyon lang ang mangyari sa two chambers of congress natin.
I agree with other’s comments that this bunch of politicians such as, Legarda, Villar, Lacson are mere second hand politicians and not fit for the highest position of the land.
For the administration, I’ll vote for MMDA chairman Bayani Fernando if he ever runs. I like his resolve in making the main metropolis thoroughfares tidy, clean and his strong determination to decongest the traffic even his actions faced strong opposition from the people affected.
ahmed s cortes
Most of the politicians being mentioned as possible presidential candidate comes 2010 have been with politics for the longest time. They have been in government long enough to have made a difference in the lives of ordinary Filipinos. Like a see saw, some have tasted being with the administration of the time or with the opposition. Yet, nothing much have been achieved courtesy of these politicians. Can we not look for candidates elsewhere, with business savvy, strong political will and unquestionable integrity? None of the GO or TU senators deserves to be president.
Kabayan
There is currently a discussion here on who among the senatoriables would be best for 2010. How sure are we that there will be a Presidential election in 2010 in the first place? If the Filipinos are not smart and vigilant, there would be no elections at all.
The Charter Change maneuver could be one of the possible causes for a no-election scenario, and there are others…
The current administration have allowed their greed for power and term extension take them over, we must all be wary.

PING LACSON FOR PRESIDENT!!!NO MORE, NO LESS!!!
Kabayan
Are you sure there will be Presidential elections in 2010? With the continuous push for Charter Change by the Gloria administration and their overweening desire for power extension, the 2010 elections is still in grave danger of being canceled.
There is an interesting article regarding the overweening ambition of Gloria for additional years in office…

Nanloloko pa rin
By Ellen Tordesillas; 03/06/07
Sa kanyang pagbibida sa Australia ng magandang ekonomiya kuno ng Pilipinas sa kanyang administrasyon, sinabi ni Gloria Arroyo, “ I have three more years to go in my term and we will keep reform going in the remainder of this term.”

I expect the 14th Congress to file an impeachement against PGMA at the first day opening because it is the will of the Filipino Voters as reflected in the last election. To hell with the economy! I dont care if the peso hit 100 to a dollar basta masaya si Ms. Ellen Tordesillas at sana sabayan na rin ng rally since Mendiola will be open as promised by Mayor Lim. This year promises to be very exciting and chaotic.
OFW in Afghanistan
Kabayan might be right. He posed a good question for all of us to think about? Will there be election in 2010? Remember what Recto said? Up to the last minute, some of these politicians did not think that there will be election last May so they resorted to the tried and tested trick of violence and threatening the voters.
With all GMA’s allies in the House of Representatives, nothing is impossible at this point. Shameless, that is what most of them are. We saw this shamelessness right before our eyes during the impeachment proceedings.
Omar, I would have loved to read your post, if not for the unfair labelling you gave to Ping Lacson. I think you would have done a better job if you can tell us why you are not voting for him and not simply labelling him. You do not want to be labelled, don’t you? That would be unfair to you. Same thing goes to Ping Lacson and anyone else we want to talk about in this blogpost.
Rudy
Three years from now is 2010, enough for GMA to groom a presidentiable who will try to protect her in the event that she is no longer in power.Come to think of it, a senator who will be kind to the Palace will surely get all the support to be in the most coveted position of Senate president, the color of those senators are still hard to identify whether they are for this group or that faction or allied to whoever gives favorable support in cash or in kind.Bottom line is, if you field a presidentiable without logistics what is your chance. But take the promise of bounty from the owner of the chest which presently is full to the brim, is that not tempting, you give me the guns and bullets and you will be protected.
Protossian
If a person is really committed to serve and he will take the job of the President of the Philippines, for sure he/she will experience a tremendous pressure and stress.
Every sector of the society will expect an improvement from the president but because we are all inter-related (e.g. business community vs laborers, Farmers vs land owners, investors vs environmentalist..etc) it would be very difficult to make tough choices and arrive with a wise decision. So first we need a Presidentiable who has “WISDOM”. Has a track record of being right/correct on every decision he/she made.
We have a very low budget in comparison with other countries and yet we still have a deficit. Our budget is playing a very big role in shaping the future of our country. Eventhough the EVAT is painful for us, it is necessary. The government must have enough money to spend for the development of our country. So secondly, the next president should know how to deal with the members of the Congress to draft an excellent budget. Must be knowledgeable on how to empower the B.I.R. to collect what is due to the government (I just hope that everybody in this forum, pays taxes…=))
One equally important aspect is the “peace & order”. In terms of quality of labor, I think Philippines is better that China, cost is almost the same but Philippines don’t have the peace & order ithat China has, that we know investors need. The next president should have a track record of pursuing peace agreement with all the rebel groups (NPA, MILF, MNLF, etc.). Imagine if there is peace in Mindanao??? Imagine if there is no NPA in Southern Tagalog???
Another quality that the next president needs is “Managerial Skills”. The longer the experience the better.
Tama si Gerry…let us scrutinize the performances of the newly elected public officials for the next three years.
Just to add one more thing. Let us consider ourselves as shareholders of a company which in this case id the Republic of the Philippines. After three years we are to convene and choose a new CEO.
God Bless Philippines!
Doddy
I don’t think Sen. Dick Gordon will make a good president. He is hot headed, gets emotional and cannot face criticism. Have we forgotten his attitude during the jueteng hearings, how he reacted when insinuations were made that his relative is involved in jueteng. We need someone who is cool but calculating.
OFW in Afghanistan
Yes, Rudy. Let us see how our potential ‘presidentiables’ perform. The promise of bounty from the owner of the chest is so tempting. However, this election also showed that that is not enough. TU had the logistics and the resources but the result of the election did not guarantee that people would be elected because of these reasons alone. Our ‘presidentiable’ should show us that he/she is the better choice.
Ahh, wisdom, yes, we need a President with wisdom. Unfortunately, in this government’s time, wisdom is soooo elusive and most of the President’s men and women have lost plain common sense. What more of wisdom?
Peace and order, yes, the investors can only be assured of their investment if there is peace and order. Have we questioned why we do not have peace and order now? This is because of the injustice and poverty in our midst. The NPA and MILF become attractive alternative for people who have been wronged and cannot find justice.
Managerial skills, absolutely, the kind that inspires, that transforms society into something that is proud of itself and being able to address its own issues, managerial skills that bring us to a stage where we all are proud to be a Filipino.
Unfortunately, this government has failed in all of these 3 areas, Protossian.
Bert
Let’s blog, post, argue and quarrel about everything, anything political. That’s one way of making our voices heard. Every one of us, what ever our views, have one thing in common-and that is that we all want the best happening to our beloved country and people. We want the best for ourselves in our lifetime, and the future of our next generations. This common denominator is the one force causing the continuing political upheavals and turmoil happening in all those years in our country resulting from our grim determination to find the ideal government officials we want that could give light to our aspirations. It’s so sad that as of this moment we are still stuck with the lot of them that have failed us, including this present government. Adding salt to injury, advertently or inadvertently, unheeding of our contempt and displeasure we have bestowed them, they are still making moves and plan to perpetuate themselves on us forever by this plan to do the CHA-CHA. ARE WE GOING TO LET THEM? Please reply, the future of the our next generations are in your hands.
OFW in Afghanistan
Actually, Bert, I have no problems with Charter Change. I recognize that the current constitution is not perfect. There are a lot of flaws in it. My biggest problem right now are the people that are pushing for it. I am not sure if these people are capable of reviewing it with the best of the interest of the rest of the Filipino people and not their self-serving interests. I just do not trust these jokers. The process that they are suggesting are just ridiculously open to manipulation.
Vincent of Davao City
Ang apat na inilista bilang mga future “presidentiables” kono sa 2010 are nothing but inutile senators.
Legarda is just a mere news reader, wala siyang karanasan sa Executive Department kaya hindi siya qualified maging pangulo o pangalawang pangulo.
Escudero is too young to be president and has no experience in Executive Department.
Lacson is nothing but a mere policeman and a member of Mafia.
Bising-busy siya sa kanyang negosyo and at the same time naninilbihan bilang senate president. No one can serve two masters at the same time.

Exactly what I was saying, you agreed with me then. You said your biggest problem are the people pushing for chacha, and, you don’t trust those joker. Same with me. Only that they’re not joker, they are serious gringos and gringas who want to perpetuate themselves in power forever. You have two choices, Sir; 1.) Since you are in favor of chacha, so, you will let it happen and let JDV and GMA serve as the kind of leader you want-forever; 2.) You will let it happen over your dead body, and mine, so you will make your move now and let them know your position in order to avert a surefire catastrophe later. Take your pick, Sir.
Delrey
Vincent of Davao City
Noong siya isang RTC Judge pinatunayan niya ang kanyang tapang at independent mind when she defied Marcos. It was Marcos who appointed Miriam as RTC Judge. Ngunit noong 1985 ang mga UP student protesters ay pinadampot at pinakulong ni Marcos dahil sa pagpoprotesta, Miriam defied Marcos when she granted bail to the accused. She had also disposed of the highest number of cases although she was a new RTC Judge.
Ang Bureau of Immigration and Deportation ay kilala bilang isang notoriously corrupt government agency.
Noong si Miriam ay naging Secretary of Agrarian Reform, she fully implemented the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program. She then empowered the peasantry and tried to eradicate rural poverty by giving land to the poorest.
Miriam’s impressive educational attainment:
Elementary- Valedictorian
Highschool- Valedictorian
College - Magna Cum Laude
Masteral (USA) - w/ “A” Avarage
Doctorate(USA) - w/ “A” Average
(In the USA, “A” Average is the highest)
Schools attended by Miriam are the ff:
-University of the Philippines(scholar)
-Maryhill School of Theology(scholar)
-University of Michigan(scholar)
-Academy of American and International Law(scholar)
-California Judicial College, University of California at Berkeley(scholar)
(In the practical courtroom test, American judges gave her the highest grade of 33 out of 35)
-Harvard University(scholar)
-Oxford University(scholar)
-Cambridge University(scholar)
God Bless the Philippines!

Vincent, Miriam is a goner. When she aligned herself with Gloria, she sold her soul. Well, that is, if she has one. She seems to have lost it a long time ago. I actually voted for her but unfortunately, slowly she showed her true colors.
I would still go for Lacson. At least, he has been consistent with his position on a number of issues. It is very difficult to maintain those positions given the circumstances. He could have done a Miriam, but so far…he is holding on. Give the man a chance.
Bert, I do have a third choice. Dance the chacha when everybody behind it knows how to dance it with all honesty and grace. That’s what we want, don’t we?

Noli de Castro lost his backbone and now caters to Gloria’s whim. He dropped the ball (His balls? No pun intended) and his responsibility in righting the wrongs of society happening right before his face.
That is why somebody else took the cudgels from him and continued the fight to inform the public on anomalies happening in our nation.
The old Noli … the first “Kabayan” is dead, washed away in the cares and stranglehold of politics; but the fight for justice lives on in the multitude of other Filipinos willing to expose injustice and right the wrongs in our society.

Miriam Defensor Santiago is undeniably an ally of the administration but she never failed to criticize the Arroyo administration if it is subjected to unconscionable pressure.
It is the Arroyo administration that longs for Miriam to be part of their team, not Miriam herself. Because they know for a fact that the Lady Senator is very useful in public service.
Your statement “I would still go for Lacson.” is a clear synonym of this statement “I would prefer a big syndicate and a murderer over that of a brave and brilliant woman.”
Give Lacson a chance? If he is really the best guy for 2010 presidential elections then why is he always one of the senators who has a poor performance in the senate? Lacson was never a topnotcher in the senate even a single time but Miriam is a consistent topnotcher in the senate. Lacson is one of the senators who has the lowest number of Bills and Resolutions passed and he tied with Lito Lapid.
Ricky made me laugh when he said Noli De Castro will be a good president. De Castro does not have a single iota of intelligence to bring back the glory days of the Philippines. He’s nothing but a dull news reader. He was always the laughing stock of the reporters assigned in the senate when he was a senator. I recalled one of the reporter’s comments about De Castro was this “Si De Castro ang pinakabobo na senador na nasaksihan ko sa senado.”

To Vincent of Davao City,
Im sure there are lots of qualified men and women in our country today to be the next president of the land but sad to say they will never have that chance because our presidential election is a popularity and money contest mixed with political patronage. The requirements for a presidential candidates are so low, and the standards (moral/intellectual)of the voting public in choosing a president if there are any are puzzling.

i’m glad to know that there are still some filipinos who knows the real score of personalities in our country’s political life at hindi naloloko ng propaganda - miriam is a choice but as they say only a thin line separates genius from madness - we don’t even know the real story behind the death of his son - it is hard to believe a man who is so privileged in life would kill himself at the prime of his life unless of course he has some genes which are off-tangent
Vincent of Davao City
To Rock:
O ayan, wala kang ibang maipukol kay Miriam kaya you adopted the line of thinking of others.
God, the primal source of all wisdom, does not demand that man, created in his image and likeness, allow himself to be deceived and hoodwinked, but wants us to use and let shine the light of reason with which He has so mercifully endowed us.
God is Impecably Genius. Now IF the saying you cited is true and correct then God is just hairline away from madness.

Basta ako, ito lang ang masasabi ko. Ito ang mga taong sikat na nasa listahan ko: GMA, husbanda, JDV, Nograles, Villafuerte, Abalos, Garci, Bedol, Migz, Joe Pidal, Joc Bolante, Chavit, theGeneral, the abductors, the supporters, the crime operators, sino pa ba? May nakalimutan yata ako? Any candidate for president in the so called 2010 election supported by the above entities is doom to lose.

To: Vincent of Davao City
Sabi niya, “I lied.” Sinungaling!
Bert
To: Vincent again
Vincent of Davao City
To Bert:
When she refused to jump out of the plane, it only mean one thing, matino ang isipan ni Miriam.
Wasn’t it evident that she’s honest and brave when she admitted that she lied?
From 1990 to 1992, Miriam was a consistent topnotcher in the nationwide presidential surveys. Miriam won in the counting but lost in the canvassing due to the massive vote-shaving and padding(dagdag-bawas). Miriam was leading the canvassing for 5 days. In 1992, Miriam did not have a machinery to protect her votes unlike FVR who was supported by the administration.
Miriam is still the best candidate for 2010 presidential elections.
God bless the Philippines!

Jonas,
Anyone from that list can be a president…kasi marunong lahat mandaya yang mga yan eh…
Pero kung ang tanong sino sa kanila ang maging ¨Good President¨ ang sagot eh…NONE OF THEM ALL…
There is one person that im willing to put my bet on…the chief justice…I think CJ can be a good president…as a matter of fact, among all the govt officials recently, sya lang ang may sinasabi at may ginawa na may credibilidad…ibig sabihin kapanipaniwala…

Vincent of Davao,
Rjay
Rjay Docus,
hi guys..im just wondering kung bakit most of the names that youve given to become the next president of the philipines are senseless..i mean hindi nman totally senseless but mga name na wala mxadong mga accomplishments o ung tinatwag nting wla pang “napapatunyan”..but still i respect all ur thoughts and opinions..hehe..
So guys think about “Richard Dick” Gordon” to become the next President of the Philippines:)tnx.
God Bless our nation..

Gordon..nothing to worry about it..try to dtermine his accomplishments..you will see..it speaks a lot..tnx..
MC_90
Rjay,
nakalimutan ko itanong…kapitbahay mo ba si gordon? o kamag-anak mo ba sya? o anak ka ba nya? o siya ba nagpapasweldo sayo ngayon? o ano pa ba hehehehehehehehe

Hahaha…

OFW in Afghanistan
Manuel, tingin ko hindi! Pero, if he is…does it matter? Ano ang problema mo? If he is a closet queen does it make him a bad person… a bad President (if ever?). If he is a closet queen, doet it make him less qualified. Think again. If he is a good person and puts the Philippine interest on top of his agenda, he gets my vote. He is not on top of my list though.
Kabayan
hmmm manuel, you engaged in rumor mongering? Surely you can do better than that.

I think Senator Trillanes with the help of fellow former military senators and putchist in the armed forces will rule the country even before 2010. The elections of Trillanes, Lacson and Biazon is an omen that the public will accept a junta that will provide political stability for 40 years just like Myanmar.
George
To the readers of this blog:
Senator Gordon for me is the best person for president among the aspiring presidentiables in the 2010 elections. His track record alone can prove it. We love this country! We should really scrutinize the personality and background and achievements ng kahit na sinong tumatakbo sa pagkapresidente. Wag na tayong pabola pa. Deeds and deeds alone should be the basis of our criteria in choosing our next president. Gordon has leadership capabilities. He’s not really that popular like Estrada or other presidentiables na kaapelyido ng dating presidente o kayay nung mga magaling gumimik sa paggamit ng advertisement. Pero looking back at his past jobs and achievements, sayang naman kung hindi siya ang iboto natin. At his age and experience, hinog na talaga siya. And the most I like with him: pag sinabi niya ginagawa niya. Remember Olongapo, SBMA, DOT, and Philippine Red Cross? He can motivate people. And his leadership style is one of the bests. And on top of it, he’s a very good lawyer–nakita naman natin ang mga ipinasa niyang batas at ang bilang ng nagawa niyang bills. His passion and his ability in whatever job he handles shows the greatness of his character. Let’s give him a chance. Let’s vote for Dick Gordon!
MC_90

The funny thing with people like you..you talk about exactly the same thing about yoru idols hahahahaha

sonny belmonte or bayani fernando might be good for our country. they don’t talk much but they’re full of actions. when belmonte assumed office, the coffers were empty and in debt, now qc is the richest city and sonny has been named the best mayor 2x i think.
same thing w/ bayani, less talk, more action. but, sadly, i doubt if they will win.
gordon is ok too, so w/ miriam. vincent has a point when he said miriam was cheated in the 92 elections.
very true, any party, whether opposition or adm. will profit from her. remember she was w/ opposition before. i have noticed too even if she is w/ adm. she is critical of them if the need arises. hindi naman siya puppet lately.
but you know, don’t be surprised if one day we will all wake up to a binay and jinggoy adm. bec. the media is foisting these 2 and so many other unqualified to us!
re being a closet queen as pres. or vp, i have nothing against them….but, don’t you think they are more vulnerable and their positions and decisions can be compromised if ever they win? i am not implying someone is gay here, i am talking about the position being occupied by one if ever…
