The proclamation of Migz Zubiri as the 12th senator elected in the 2007 mid-term polls —- despite evidence that the results in Maguindanao province were manufactured, by and large —- was deeply depressing news. I don’t mean it wasn’t inevitable; in fact, that was what was wrong with Zubiri’s “victory” in the first place. It was slow-motion theft; we could all see it coming, a mile away, and in the end we couldn’t prevent it from happening.
This same sense of frustration may have moved the Black and White Movement to release a statement, drenched in sarcasm, a few hours after the proclamation. If you need a little pick-me-up, give it a read:

GOD helps those that help themselves. So when Migz Zubiri thanked God, he was also thanking Gloria, Garci, Bedol, and Abalos: the faces of our modern “democrazy”.
Imagine that. The power and the glory now belong to Migz, now, if not forever. We commiserate with Chavit Singson how in heaven’s name could Chavit have lost his top rank to Migz? Poor guy must be really depressed. What a difference a month makes. Chavit was once upon a time first in Maguindanao: but as we now know, there are lies, damned lies, and statistics. Even the improbable ones.
Now, Migz owes a lot. When he thanked God, Mama Mary, and all the saints, he was being a grateful person. Grateful, maybe not to the people of Maguindanao, but definitely thankful to all those who helped make his election as credible as Mrs. Arroyo’s 2004 victory. As the second most impoverished province of ARMM, we can only hope Maguindanao gets the attention it deserves from him and that it’s not just the usual suspects, who get to enjoy the blessings helping Migz win will give.
As for the millions of us that voted for Koko Pimentel, we had it coming. We were old-fashioned enough to believe what mattered more was a genuine mandate, that our votes would count as much as the votes for Migz. How were we to know, that neither our votes nor Migz’ votes, mattered at all? What mattered most was never in the public’s hands: it was the counting, and who did the counting, that mattered. It didn’t even matter if the votes were there, and it didn’t matter if all anyone wanted was a chance to vote again, without terrorism and manufactured documents substituting for an election.

When the manufactured municipal certificates of canvass were tabulated as official votes, that is the real disenfranchisement. Imagine, reflecting in the CoCs that voters “voted” for Zubiri (PCoCs indicated 98% of voters voted for Zubiri) when Maguindanaonons did not in fact vote for him or worse, were not able to vote at all. A classic example is Pagalungan results. The ER’s showed people voted for Lacson, Cayetano. But they were listed with zero votes in the PCoCs.

Saw that zubiri, Is losing Pandak give the order to make sure her chicken win. That’s why the next thing we know Zubiray, Won in mindanoa. I wonder how much money the comelec make just to make him win. Now, They can’t even find Bidol, Dol. Because Gloria Arroyo, Tuta has been hiding him. Philippines politic is dirty! people who’s running in politic is not even doing their job they suppose to, Except to inrich’s themselves.

It’s a known fact in mindanao na hindi popular si koko pimentel at mas marami ang nakakakilala kay Zubiri, besides…ang GO kung makasalita parang hindi sila nang cheat at the local level…pare-pareho lang naman ah…huwag na kayong mag reklamo…cheaters din yung mga kandidato nyo….

Bystander, your analysis is partially correct, that Gloria is not power crazy but was driven by the opposition bent on overthrowing her and putting her on the slammer. The treachery employed by her cabinet officials in giving her flowers and singing her a song “As long as were together” and then stabbed her on the back was never in my mind pardonable for whatever reason. Her allies like Frank Drilon and the Liberal Party which he represent, offering her the City of Iloilo as sanctuary and then join the mob crying for her blood, brings to my mind the sight of the senators of Rome welcoming Ceasar and then with their knives stabbed him to death. These are the people who have no honor and even the snakes pales in comparison in treachery. I did not like Gloria but the events that transpired makes me believe that she is the best President we have, having survived the unrelenting assult on her person and her presidency. Not one in the opposition have the moral ascendancy to replaced her. They are all corrupt and hungry for power and salivating at the chance to rid of Gloria and taking power to enrich themselves.

First of all Gloria Arroyo, Is not the President of the Philippines because she don’t have a mandate from the filipino people. She only stole her title from the duly elected President Joseph Estrada, and she stole it again from Fernando Poe, Jr. In May 10, 2004. Presidential election.
If Gloria Arroyo, Really the best thing ever happen in the Philippines why is it there is more and more filipino people are starving. The only thing Gloria Arroyo, Know how to do is rob the government coffer.
