NO to Gordon for president. Only for one reason. And that is that Gordon is in the same basket of rotten eggs as this rotten administration. He is a persistent defender of the interests of THE SCAMMERS, therefore, by association, his hands are tainted, not only with grease, but also with blood. Also, by association, he is taking the low moral ground. We learned from experience that a president with low moral standards is a disaster to the nation and its people. Only for this reason.

I received this too and I’ve longed believed that Richard J Gordon should become our President. I signed up to support his campaign and so have all my friends and family.

MC_90, our present chief justice is Reynato Puno. Perhaps you meant retired chief justice Hilario Davide.

There are a lot of things that I personally don’t like about Richard Gordon too. But we have to admit, that if we scrutinize his accomplishments and his administrative track records that he is very much qualified to become the next President. Unfortunately, I don’t see him as a winner due to the way Philippine politics is run.
I am still hoping that next time around the Filipino people will be able to put someone in Malacanang with true Vision and the will to make things happen. But this will not happen if we will continue with partisan politics and refuse to support people that we do not like even if their programs and vision is what is best for the country.

It used to be that Dick Gordon was easy to like fella, especially during his Subic days. but a big change has happened since he became a senator. Very noticeable is the change in his demeanor. He has become abrasive and arrogant in the way he treats resource persons invited to senate hearings. You bet, power has gone to his head and he shows it when he does not get what he wants. A very dangerous trait for one who wants to be President. So beware.

I USED TO like DICK Gordon. But after watching him during the senate hearings where he put Cayetano down. Does this make DICK a better person? I did’nt think DICK Gordon is a statesman. He whines like a 5 year old. I like my leaders to show their age and not arrogant like DICK Gordon. He is such a DICK.

I admire Gordon for his leadership and vision. His hands are tainted, right…but who isn’t?

The only person I have in mind is Pimentel but just like Salonga, Pimentel will not win the presidential election.

I can see that Gordon has the capacity to unite people with differing opinions and loyalties at the city level. The national level is a different ball game alltogether. This is where Erap failed…where once he was a success in San Juan. How do you unite people of different loyalties do you do a De Venecia by accommodating everybody and paying them off or you do what the current President does: forget everybody else and only reward people who lick your ass and those who do not like you…make their lives difficult?

A person who has the qualities (rooted in tried and tested values of integrity, respect, fairness and justice) to transform a society will not need the tricks that JDV and Gloria do. And if we find that person, will the Filipino people embrace him and support him?

It would be nice to see Gordon at the helm of labor department. The way he turned around Subic giving people jobs and creating opportunities, it would be a great task if he will do it to the entire nation.

I used to really like him. I won’t be against his presidency but i wouldn’t support it too. How can he unite the nation when he can’t unite Olongapo? By the way, be afraid to consider him a place in the labor department. He might turn the force into volunteers…Volunteerism is a great thing but don’t resort to it when you have funds to pay to the people. Didn’t BCDA by virtue of R.A. 7227 provided funds for these former U.S. military facilities? Just a clarification, jobs were generated during the time of Payumo, not during the time of Gordon. I’m not a fan of Payumo but that’s how I see it. It was a good start with Gordon but the politics that he molded in SBMA was the same that made his bad ouster.

Let’s put it this way, first thing first. Of course I will vote for my choice of president. Might even for Gordon, if he should show some semblance of going for the higher moral ground from now on. Which is to say, stay away from the worst of ‘em-from the most brazen of them that ever ruled this land with impunity. If I don’t vote, the consequence would be that I would lose the right to criticize, or to applause, the next president of my dear country. And I love doing those, as you could see. True, all of them are tainted with grease, I suppose, but I believe some of them are not tainted with blood, hopefully. Some are tainted with just enough grease, maybe because of conscience, some are insatiable, because of greed. Some of them are tainted with so much grease-and so much blood as well. I will vote for someone without those sins. But, since MC_90 said there is none, and I believe him, I will vote for one who I believe would have some conscience therefore takes only just enough grease to be comfortable enough in his life-never for one who has blood in his hands. In all, the president I want is the person I perceive who has the capability to make my country a better place for my children, and my children’s children, to live, without so much the taint of grease and, (worse) blood, in his hands.

It might be that Gordon the likeable Dick is in the wrong institution — the Senate. For a person who is so straightforward and who speaks his mind, mlabo na di makipagdebate sa isang institusyon na puro ego at satsatan. I would definitely vote for him to be President. Gordon is executive material. He has made his bones so to speak.

Gordon has done a great number of things for our countrymen. Roxas and Villar have done NOTHING.

Villar railroaded the impeachment against Estrada and now is licking the ass of the Estrada led faction of the opposition.

Roxas, on the other hand, is neither here nor there.

You’ve taken your eye from the real ball Team Gordon. First of all you must be sure that the current “ruler” would not extend HER term, manipulate the Constitution and not run again for ANY public office including the position of Barangay Captain. When you are certain that the current “ruler” ceases to manipulate for a new or even lifetime term, only THEN can you think about vigorously pushing for Gordon as President.

With the Glorietta bombing yesterday, I rest my case, Dick Gordon is Flash Gordon and he is the leader we need during this times of crisis. When there was nobody around, no law enforcement agencies, no Ayala representative, no local government of Makati around, even the DSWD assigned by the President left after promising to release P5,000 and P10,000 to victims, it was Dick Gordon who was there to console and eventually put closure to the wife and family of Rainier Tan when he led rescue and retrieval efforts to locate his remains after everyone gave up and left..

Para sa akin the best talaga si Senator Dick Gordon. Maraming beses na niyang napatunayan yan — sa Olongapo at pati na sa lahat na pinamunuan niya. Kailangan ng Pilipinas ang isang matatag, matalino, may puso at may leadership at motivation. Ang mga katangiang ito ay nasa kanya. Bigyan natin siya ng pagkakataon na paunlarin at baguhin ang bansa natin. His track record alone can prove his worth!
