Trillanes vs GMA

11/29/07

Posted under Philippine politics, Rule of law

Antonio Trillanes, failed mutineer turned Senator of the Republic, has decided to play for all the marbles. After holing up in the Manila Peninsula with about 30 soldiers, he has  asked the public to choose between him and the President.

I get the sense that this pseudo-mutiny or quasi-coup will not end peacefully.

Trillanes is just a mirror of the deep frustration the people are feeling about the administration and the government. It’s a pity he choose the wrong path to express his message.
The Philippines is a hopeless case now, not even the senate can do good. For those who have the opportunity, its time to think over of leaving the country for good.
