The battle of the corrupt: Marcos vs Arroyo

12/11/07

Posted under Philippine politics

In history’s all-star corruption race, who was worse?

Pulse Asia has an answer; or, rather, the survey firm has plumbed public opinion, and located the public’s answer. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is the “most corrupt president in history,” statistically edging out the late dictator, Ferdinand Marcos.

Here are three Tables of survey findings (the survey was taken in October 2007), summarizing the current state of public opinion. (Note, in particular, the second Table.) Please click on the thumbnail images to enlarge them.

    - PGMA receives highest award from World Boxing Council

    - The Universidad de Alcala has decided to award H.E. the President based on her defense of human rights, particularly her role in abolishing the death penalty in the Philippines. PGMA will be the first female head of state to receive said award.

    - The President’s strongest suit is a strong economy which was shown by government’s fiscal figure and whatever her detractors say against her, the country has a strong fiscal position.

The good effects of the Administration’s fiscal reforms should be felt by ordinary Filipinos. This time, the government has been implementing pro-poor programs to alleviate the standard living of the poor sector through the poverty alleviation programs of the President.

I always pray for you and for all na sana patuloy ang pag-unlad at matapos na ang “crab mentality!”

if there is solid evidence against her she will be kicked out, that’s for sure.’Filipino people is not blind not to see exactly whats going on’. most are simply unconvinced. and the more you rail and rant against her without that solid evidence, the lamer the position, the more ‘poor loser’ it will look.

Majority of people who post comments in this blog talk about the supposed crimes of GMA, yet there is little to no proof of any of these allegations.

Some people think that a little hardship felt means the government is not doing it’s job of protecting the people’s interests. Before reacting, please ask yourselves, have you done anything for this country instead of make noise? Everybody has his part in helping this nation prosper. And for people like us, it’s to WORK so that in a little way, we can somehow help this country. Crab-mentality is prevalent among Filipinos, and that’s primarily the reason why people try to bring others down with them. Why? Because most Filipinos are lazy. While some try to make a living, others do nothing. Poor people are always complaining about not getting what they should from the government. But why complain? The government is not a babysitter for brats who throw a tantrum everytime they do not get what they want. Wake up, people! Most of us Filipinos who work for a living are poor! You’re not the only ones who think you’re not getting benefits for your taxes! The problem with people is that instead of at least TRYING to help themselves, they gripe about others not trying to help them! Oh come on! Get jobs! Work! And stop complaining! And if I might add, the reason why movements to oust GMA has failed, is because people would rather work and be productive! Bottomline is, before making any insinuations about the President not doing her job of running this country, ask yourselves first if you, yourselves are doing your part to help!

Okay, Okay, You have the point. But, If she don’t have anything to hide why suppress the truth?!

If she’s not guilty of any wrong doing, She should let her official attend the senate hearing.

Beside even though there is solid evidence against her she will never go to jail, Because she control the entire corrupt justice system. Filipino people is not blind not to see exactly whats going on. This is one of the reason why she’s tag as number one corrupted.
