The battle of the corrupt: Marcos vs Arroyo

12/11/07

Posted under Philippine politics

In history’s all-star corruption race, who was worse?

Pulse Asia has an answer; or, rather, the survey firm has plumbed public opinion, and located the public’s answer. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is the “most corrupt president in history,” statistically edging out the late dictator, Ferdinand Marcos.

Here are three Tables of survey findings (the survey was taken in October 2007), summarizing the current state of public opinion. (Note, in particular, the second Table.) Please click on the thumbnail images to enlarge them.

    Gloria Lavandera. Says:

    mindanaoan
    if there is solid evidence against her she will be kicked out, that’s for sure.’Filipino people is not blind not to see exactly whats going on’. most are simply unconvinced. and the more you rail and rant against her without that solid evidence, the lamer the position, the more ‘poor loser’ it will look.

    )))))))))))))))))))))
    How can somebody kick her out even though there is solid evidence against her. When she’s protected by these corrupt JUDIACY/PNP/AFP GLORIA ARROYO, THE ONE SHOULD BE IN JAIL BUT THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN BECAUSE SHE CONTROL THE ENTIRE CORRUPT JUSTICE SYSTEM.

    more impt. than the battle of who is more corrupt is, how do we undo things that are happening?
    given that everyone seems to be complaining they are hard up, and the econ. is just being propelled by the ofw $, and not by the policies of ate glo….now my question is…

    to kabayan, padang, bert, et. al. you all seem to be very analytical and knowledgeable re the economy, i ask you now, if you will be tapped by the govt. to serve in teves’ shoes, what will you do to change the rut we’re in? help the people w/ your ideas. we cannot be blaming each other forever and just sit still. what will you do if given that chance to serve? who knows, bunye, teves or puno might be reading this blog…share to us what you think….

    Yes Skeptic, she just won the Most Corrupt Philippine President award too, not that she is a confirmed President in the first place.

    Kasabihan nga eh … Walang naghihirap na kurakot kung masipag mangurakot.
