Malacanang has come out swinging against the October 2007 Pulse Asia survey that found President Arroyo the “most corrupt President” in the history of the Philippines.
PMS Chief Cerge Remonde called it “unfair, unkind, and un-Christian.”
Cabinet Secretary Ricardo Saludo said surveys like these were largely irrelevant. “Pinakamahalaga ang walang sawang serbisyo ng Pangulo sa milyun-milyong Pilipino, hindi ang rating niya sa mga survey ng 1,500 tao.”
The insinuation that the small sample size of such surveys rendered them insignificant was echoed in one of Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye’s statements. He said: “We therefore vehemently challenge the survey results which could have been influenced by a number of distorting factors such as the sample (1,200 respondents out of 84 million Filipinos), possibly misleading questions and even the person or persons who commissioned the survey.”
Executive Secretary Ed Ermita later amplified on that last point. Clearly referring to ex-senator Serge Osmena, he said: “It’s a pity that because of politics, certain elements — organizations or individuals – are using the survey as a fodder for their relentless attack on the President.”

Napaka biased naman ng pulse asia. sana inispend nalang nila yung resources nila sa mas magandang bagay tulad ng pagbigay relief goods to those needy people who barely cant afford to buy food. this is worth more than telling the president to be corrupt. why not think some postive ideas, ways, to reach out those poor people. this is sickening to hear…

Ang mga survey na yan tama man o mali hindi na mababago ang image ng pilipinas na isa sa pinaka corrupt na bansa sa buong mundo. Ang corruption ay parang laruan na lamang na ginagawa ng mga matataas na naluklok sa posisyon. Ang mga taong ganyan ay nasisikmura nila na ipakain sa mga pamilya nila ang galing sa nakaw. Nagagawa nilang magliwaliw kahit saan man lupalop ng mundo sa perang nakaw na galing sa mga pinagpaguran ng mga maralita.
Katulad ko na isang OFW at sa mga iba pang kagaya ko na ang hangad ay mabigyan ng maayos na pamumuhay ang pamilya galing sa tamang paraan, ang hiling ko lng sa mga nasanay na sa corruption (mostly mga politikong nasa pwesto) ay magtrabaho naman kayo ng maayos para hwag na kayo magnakaw pa at para maranasan niyo rin na ang ipinapakain niyo sa mga pamilya niyo ay galing sa maayos na pinaghirapn niyo.. mga bwisit kayo… mga walang modo, balasubas.. ginago at niloko niyo na kami, lalo niyo pa kami pinapahirapan. maawa naman kayo sa mga sarili nyo, iwasto na ang buhay niyo habang may panahon pa. mabuti pa yong sira ulo nagagamot pero yang sakit niyong pagnanakaw wala ng lunas… pati mga asawat anak niyo magnanakaw na rin katulad niyo… sana kunin na kayo ni SATANAS!!!!!.. may katapusan din kayo…

The Pulse Asia survey, commissioned by Senator serge osmeña is highly biased, unfair and politically motivated. This deceptive maneuver is clearly meant to inflamed the hatred of Filipinos to President Arroyo with the hope that they might succeed in ousting her from the Presidency! This malicious survey has damaged not only the President but has further tarnished our image as Filipinos in the international community.
