Are you voting?

| 6 Comments | No TrackBacks
WITH just two weeks to go before the election, the campaign is nearing the home stretch and we're getting bombarded with one promise after another by the candi dates? Do you plan to vote on May 14? If not, why won't you be casting your vote?

Nah, I didn't even bother registering. With all the anomalies in the government
that have yet to be resolved, such as the Garci scandal, it makes little sense
that I'm gonna waste my time in voting when there's gonna be rampant cheating
by the adminstration anyway.

I agree with the assertion that, since you are going out to vote, cast your vot
e on all the positions at stake. For example, there are 12 slots for senators.
Instead of just voting for only a few, it is best to fill up the entire ballot.
This will prevent from winning those who you think don't deserve to win by you
r mere voting another candidate. This is because you allowed yourself to elect
12 senators, not just a few who happens to tickle your fancy. Remember that it
will be 12 senators who will be proclaimed, no more, no less. This will also pr
event anyone who might spoil your ballot from filling up the vacant slots which
you didn't care to fill up. The point is, since you bothered to vote anyway, d
on't waste your time to vote for only a few. Each vote won't be wasted because
it will be counted as a collective decision of the Filipino electorate. Don't b
e discouraged easily that there will be cheating. There are many volunteer elec
tion watchdogs to confirm that and guard your vote. Instead, ask why these peop
le who say there will be cheating say these things (to condition our minds?). E
lse, they would not have run for a post because they will see it as a futile ex
cercise of suffrage (they would have boycotted). They are just loudmouths creat
ing issues, wanting to stay in the limelight, with really nothing to show but h
ot air. There are no saintly candidates. Only lesser-that-evil ones. I'll vote
for them.

Am an OAVoter. I will have to cast my vote even for the Senators only. I just
hope that I will be able to make the right choice of senators to represent and
serve for us in the Senate.

I am seriously thingking of boycotting this election since the SWS & Pulse
Asia have already proclaimed the winners. I think we should seriously consider
cancelling the elections & let the pollsters decide the outcome. Then let u
s abolish the COMELEC since nobody trust this agency to count correctly.

I will be casting my vote on the May 14 Election. Let's vote wisely for the ri
ght people, but let's besure that we are not carried with those those truckload
of empty promises. Let's vote wisely! Let's exercise our right of suffrage!

To all of us who are going to vote... please dont be like traditional politicia
n (TRAPO).

vote for change.. other wise.. you are like traditional politician (TRAVO)
