Comelec asks TV networks to stop media count

Certianly Malacañng don't want to see the result of the AMA and STI quick coun
t since they can see the sweet defeat from there side. Press freedom is slowly
getting blurred in the Philippines.

it's absurd! so comelec can manipulate the election? no way! in fact the media
is our watchdog during the election and still they are our eyes on this long lo
ng long canvassing process. let them do their job mr. abalos ok? and you, do y

i don't think the comelec has the right to stop media count, authorized or not.
they are just re-checking the counting. ok lang sana na itigil nila yung iba

This is a free country, we are in a democracy and it happens that the two netwo
rks are capitalists, and so therefore, they need the ratings to outdo each othe
r. They should have been more circumspect about the possible confusion that may
arise from their "unauthorized" tabulation.

Ituloy ang Media Count, pero suggestion ko lang, lagyan ng BREAKDOWN ang votes
at least according to REGIONS. Extra work pero mas informative na approach.

this comelec of ours if obvious of their agenda. they just don't want Filipinos
to know what is exactly happening in the election's count. this 2 networks (i'
m sure) are saying "these are unofficial results" and therefore be subjected as
it is. and therefore also there's no need for this abalos to spring-up his hea
d and give "sanctions" to this networks who are doing good and doing what is ne
cessary for us Filipinos to know. Anyway, who would want honest results, its us
and for them? I don't know...

well, if TU is winning its bets, are you still going to stop the "quick counts"
of 2 and 7? I don't think so. Nevertheless, Mr. Abalos its your agency and NAM
FREL will proclaim the official results, right? So what's bothering you? What's

the votes they have counted came from. For me, I think Namfrel being accredited
should be the only one allowed to do a quick count.

I was really surprised last Monday to find the TV stations conducting a quick c
ount. Last time I heard from the news before the election, only Namfrel was aut
horized to do it. I thought, so maybe Comelec gave them permission. Then this n

They should have seen this coming, those conducting the so called quick counts.
They should have asked for permission first. Who knows where their data comes
from. Namfrel has a copy of the election return so they can verify their data.

unofficial media count may help in one way or the other to prevent cheating in
any form but it failed to get authority from the comelec, thus, we must follow
namfrel count!

OHHH!!! WE are already aware that NAMFREL is an accredited organization to do a
quick count..ABS CBN and GMA too aired their own during the 2004 election but
there was no seizure.. I am quite sure.. coz I WATCH TV..?! (I wonder why this
time...)

Why didn't/can't I see a single member of the PPCRV inspite of this news on "PP
CRV strategy to combat cheating"..is there a lapse of sight even for the member
