Panlilio vs corruption

A VERY courageous man. A man of principle. The Catholic Church must not turn its back on him. He needs their support now more than ever. This is the best time for the Church to establish and expand its social responsibilities and provide both spiritual and moral
support to Governor Panlilio which I know wanted to serve. Bless his heart.

The Philippines need more people like him. People are tired of words. Politicians that thirst for power and money but are lacking in integrity, service and sacrifice for its people. We are far away from our neighbors in terms of loyalty and love of our country. It’s time to set aside our differences, and start working together for the common good of the people we want to serve.

Words are cheap. The Church cannot reverse the decision of Father Panlilio to run and I’m sure this is for the love of his country and God. More power to people like Governor Panlilio and Mayor Lim. May the Lord grant them fullfillment of their plans and protect them from dangers (bad elements of society.

Well, we can take it that a minister of the church was successful in his political quest. Nobody can blame him for diverting his personal endeavor to politics but it is a moral duty for him to relinquish his services to preach the gospel and spreading the good news.

Politics is evil that cannot be reconcilled as a good chemistry with the church.

Pampanga Governor Panililio for President and Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim for Vice President can be a perfect tandem come 2010 Philippine National Elections. If this contemplation reaches to a formidable agreement between the two, they can be become a great political force to be reckoned with unprecedented turn-outs of overwhelming support from different sectors. They will likely frustrate potential presidential aspirants both from administration ticket and Genuine Opposition and even from those who claim to be independent.

As for me, it must be a pleasure to be involved for their national campaign.

Panlilion is certain is in the best position to initiate this fight against corruption as he came from different mold of our society. His passion to serve the country is certainly worth commending.
However,He alone doing the job is unlikely will lead to anything but frustrations as he may not get thingsm moving. Corruption is one of the many issues that he need but there are also many pressing issues. He can be very effective if his genuine passion could be complemented by managerial and business skills in running the province, which is abig challenge for him. He need to have his team of intelectual giants that is able to look at the macro and micro level of managing and transforming province with it constituent and inherent natural resources and catasptrophe’s. Running a province is no longer a place for intellectually incapable person given the current socio and political condition not only in the Philippines but the rest of the world. It has been proven many times that leader with passion and intellectual capability who understand the initricacies of economic, social, and business environment is likely to succeed. Strategic plan and clear vision makes a nation or constituents prosperous and not jius fighting the Corruption.

no matter what government we put in our country, there will be no big changes because the problem lies on the people itself.

God Bless Father Panlilio in his good intentions to do better for the country and the people…..but honestly do we need a principled priest to turn politician. People in Pampanga province must have been in dire need for somebody who can do better to represent them from their frustrations.

It must be to some extent he wanted to show politicians how to run the business in government putting people and the country first and foremost. His true intention to serve had put his spiritual vocation behind him. But I must say again with respect….do we need a priest turned politician to show the world they can do better in politics than laymen.

It took more than 2000 yrs beyond belief in the Philippine history as far as I know of…for a priest to turn politician. I wonder what would be Cardinal Sin reaction to it, if he was still alive.

Would’nt it be nice if Father Governor
Panlilio’s heart and mind along with his true and sincere intentions to help out and serve would be transformed to other people especially to our politicians.I am sure there are people particularly politicians who can equate him with his
perceptions. It would be an embarassing situation if we cannot find one.” Self righteousness must prevail NOT self vested interest”. If we can all be like Father Panlilio— the world will be a lot better place to live.

GOODLUCK FATHER….. You already have raised P5 million from the quarry tax in just five working days. Let us give him an applause

Fr. Panlillo is one man. A priest. Not a politician. He galvanized the hearts of many into action. Those who have had it finally spung into action. They voted and secured their vote. The actions of Fr. Ed is a paralle of the Cory Movement. However, let us pray that the governor’s initiative and sacrifice won’t be like the Cory days when the “it’s-our-turn-in-power” attitude came in. That is exactly why our country is in this kind of a mess. God has given the province of Pampanga a chance to be led by an unsullied leader. It is now up to each and every individual Kapampangan to fulfill their responsibility of ridding itself of corruption and show the Philippines how it is done. Fr. Ed can not do it alone.

Yes, I agree. We are all out for the support of our governor.

Let’s also pray that he’ll (Gov. Panlilo) be able to withstand the temptation of the corrupt system that has run through the veins of the governance system which has changed many politicians who have started their political career with a noble purpose of public service, only to end up being caught in the web of graft and corruption.

Father Ed Panlilio came just in time to save Pampanga from corrupt and do nothing politicians. The country needs more leaders who cannot be bought like Among Ed who seem to value the lost virtue of principle and honesty. It is time for voters to discern whether the politicians they are voting for have been involved in graft and corruption. Unless we rid the Philippines of a corrupt society ang government, it will never see the daylight of economic progress. I have yet to see a corrupt country become a first world country. The Catholic Church’s loss is Pampanga’s gain. Congratulations Father Ed!

Panlilio collects P5M in quarry taxes

By Tonette Orejas
Inquirer
Last updated 06:53am (Mla time) 07/08/2007

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines—The special committee formed by Pampanga Gov. Eddie Panlilio has collected more than P5 million in sand taxes in the first five days that the Catholic priest has been in office.

Vice Gov. Joseller Guiao, who took on a watchdog role against graft at the provincial capitol, said the income earned under Panlilio confirmed that the “potentials [of the quarry industry] are big.”

“That is within the range of expectations,” Guiao said.

The P5-million collection is 17.18 percent of the P29.1 million generated by the administration of former Gov. Mark Lapid for the whole of 2006, an Inquirer review of capitol reports on quarry income showed.

It was higher than the P3.19 million collected from January to February this year.

The recent collection represented an average of 3,333 truckloads of sand a day, more than the 100 truckloads reported by the previous administration.

If the trend continues, last year’s income could be raised in a month’s time, Panlilio said.

A separate check by the Inquirer showed that if the capitol makes an average of P20 million monthly, it could surpass the P106.4 million collected in 2001 by the Natural Resources Development Corp. of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

All the best for Gov. PANLILIO. It is high time Pampanga gets a break.

As for Mayor LIM, he does not inspire much hope anymore after his forgettable stint at the Senate, and the Sweepstakes incident.

Cris

Congratulations to Gov. Among Ed Panlilio, I am native from Lubao Pampanga and supported Among Ed Panlilio to his crusade in last May election. I came home from abroad just to support and volunteer for Among Ed, to set free the beloved town (Lubao) and province (Pampanga) from bandage of hardship in freedom, dignity and morality. I hope Among can continuously sustain his effort to enlighten more the rising sun of Pampanga. I congratulated him also for the 5 days collection of 5 millions alone from QUARRY fee. Now, although I spent from my own money in his crusade during campaign, then its worth. I witnessed the crusade from campaign, election day, counting of ballots from Barangay to Town to Guiao Convention until his proclamation its really encouraging and memorable. Again CONGRATULATIONS po Gobernador Among Ed Panlilio. From: Cris of Saudi Arabia.

Tonio

Congrats to the people in Pampanga. Sana naman may ibang mga politiko na katulad ni Fr. Ed na tatakbo for President.

Kabayan

Mayor Lim has his own interpretation on the Constitution. Rallies and public assemblies on weekends only? And I thought only the Injustice Secretary is a judicial kook.

linda t luna

fr. ed, did not leave his calling as a catholic priest, he just put it on hold, for as melchishedeck said, YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER. among must be having in his mind, if he turned down this chance, to make a difference in this our province, he will not be the only one to regret it, but the whole capanpangan region. God in all his mercy will definitely
understand, and he put among ed in such a situation because God knows he is the one who could handle it.
may God be his true light and guide throughout this ordeal.

linda t luna

let us all capangpangan pray for the great mission given to among gov.

linda t luna
