Reader says Mar Roxas ‘pseudo-oppositionist’

NO way, Mar. You are a pseudo-oppositionist.

You want to align yourself with the opposition because you feel it is the “in” thing nowadays, notwithstanding the fact that opposition contenders for the presidency is already [an] overcrowded [group].

If all of you don’t shape up, you will find yourselves clobbered by Malacanang’s annointed one.

Sooooh what if next election would be coming from the Administration. Almost all politicians are the same. Whoever is the next president will inherit a country that is always aiming to be included in the first world countries and would never become one. Among the Presidentiables’ in the opposition side, Mar Roxas is the most likeable and most likely get the Visayan vote. He is not corrupt (As far as I know, hope I get the information right) and he is artistahin, an important quality needed to become the next president.

I am not really a big fan of Mar Roxas. However, his observations about the way the Arroyo government is managing its budget is very true. It is spreading so thinly that Filipinos cannot feel the impact of that budget allocation.

As a presidential candidate, I am not so sure. He does not have the conviction of a Lacson or the energy of Gordon or the inspiring leadership of Roco or the strong moral compass that Salonga can provide. He is just too raw. I do not know, I cannot describe it right now. He is neither here nor there.

I always like Mar.My only problem in the past was that he was hiding like an ostrich to avoid taking a stand on ticklish issues like when Ate Glue was exercising emergency powers. He conveniently left for the States and avoided taking a position! The miniscule Liberal Party then of Drilon was left on its own when Atienza and his cohorts were siding with Ate Glue.

I hope Mar has found the True North.Finally.

I do not know Mar Roxas except that the surname sounds familiar. What has he done except from being top on the polls? I like people who think positive to move forward rather than critisizing the works of others.

Yes, he is neither here nor there. Like a chameleon, he changes his political color whenever the situation calls for it. He probably is a true believer in the saying, “In politics, there are no permanent friends - only permanent interests.”

he is decent man, contrary to his colleagues in the senate
