Pimentel son on embattled Abalos: 'Karma'

| 26 Comments | No TrackBacks
By Maila Ager INQUIRER.net MANILA, Philippines--âThatâs his karma.â This was how lawyer Aquilino âKokoâ Pimentel III described the controversy houn ding Commission on Elections Chairman Benjamin Abalos regarding the allegedly a nomalous national broadband network project. According to dictionary.com, karma is âthe action, seen as bringing upon onesel f inevitable results, good or bad, either in this life or in a reincarnation.â Pimentel, who lost his senatorial bid in the last May elections, used a forum i n Quezon City to ventilate his sentiments against Abalos, who he claimed had âm astermindedâ the alleged cheating in the elections last May. He said the NBN contract between the government and the ZTE Corp. was one of th e continuing âinjusticesâ that the country has been facing under this present a dministration. âAng dami pa ring injustices hindi lamang sa aspeto ng human rights, pati na ri n sa [There have been a lot injustices not only in the aspect of human rights b ut also in the [stealing the peopleâs mandate and the latest one is the ZTE inv olving the same person, who maneuvered, masterminded the stealing of an electio n, is the same person now involved in this anomalous ZTE contract,â Pimentel sa id, referring to Abalos. âSo good for him [Abalos]. So thatâs his karma. Nobody believes him kahit anong gawin niyang paliwanag [no matter what explanation he gives],â he said. In the House of Representatives, Akbayan Representative Risa Hontiveros pressed for the filing of an impeachment complaint against Abalos following a detailed testimony by Jose âJoey â De Venecia III in the Senate regarding the chairman âs role in the NBN fiasco. De Venecia is the son of Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr. and a major shareholder of the Amsterdam Holdings Inc, one of the proponents of the NBN project. Hontiveros said De Veneciaâs sworn statement was enough to impeach Abalos. âThe statement, which was given under oath, would make Comelec Chairman Abalos accountable for violating the Anti-Graft and Corruption law and betrayal of pub lic trust,â she said in a statement. âAt the very least, the minority should meet and discuss whether the testimony is enough to impeach Abalos. Since Iloilo Vice Governor Rolex Suplico has not f iled his complaint yet, the minority might tackle the possibility of linking up with Jose de Venecia III about the matter,â she pointed out. Meanwhile, Bayan Muna Representative Teodoro Casiño and Gabriela Womenâs Party list Representative Liza Maza were no longer surprised by the younger De Veneci aâs mention of First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo and his supposed role in the deal. âIf First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo is the mystery man, it doesnât take too much to conclude who the mystery woman is. Above all, she could be held account able in the NBN-ZTE deal,â Casiño said, referring to President Gloria Macapaga l-Arroyo. Manila Representative Bienvenido Abante, an administration ally, joined calls f or the First Gentleman to address the issue confronting him. âI think, Iâve been always supportive of the administration but this time, I ho pe he [Mr. Arroyo] will address the allegation against him,â Abante said. But Cebu Representative Pablo Garcia, also an administration ally, said the Pre sidentâs husband could choose not to appear in a congressional inquiry since th e Constitution provided that only a judge could issue a warrant of arrest or co mpel a person to participate in the hearing. Unlike Abante, Garcia was more interested in what the Speaker has to say about his sonâs exposé. âHe [the Speaker] should not keep quiet. The people also expect to hear somethi ng from him,â he said. The Cebu lawmaker would not say however how this latest exposé against Mr. Arr oyo would affect the political alignment in the House.

There's no denying an impeachment against Chairman Abalos is in the works. What
goes around, comes around, as they say in the days of yore.

sana ito na ang panguna sa mga dadating na karma dahil sobra na sila.iba ang sa
lita iba ang gawa.mga walang konsensya.

Abalos would lie straight in your face and looking you eye to eye. Talking abou
t a man whose soul is already rotting in hell."What doe it profit a man, if he
gains the whole world but suffer the lose of this own soul?" Abalos thinks this
passage doe not apply to him, because this is his "last hurrah" being the "mos
t powerful man in the Philippine during the lection." Matindi pa kaysa kay Marc
os, very pathetic. .

They are all the same. The younger Pimentel is obviously blaming Abalos for his
loss. Just like most of the losers, he still ca'nt accept the outcome of the e
lection and still harps on being cheated.
But come to think of it, there were places in Mindanao where he was clearly o
vershadowed by Zubiri. Does'nt that tell him something? I know that nowadays se
nators are voted at-large and they have the whole nation's populace as their co
nstituents, but if you are a candidate, aren't you supposed to be preferrred or
carried by voters with whom you shared georaphical affinity? The people who we
re supposed to know you better did not give you their votes? They must have a c
ompelling reason.Think about it.
With regards to Mr. Abalos, I hope that the Senate can facilitate their
investigation and if necessary, file a case against him in court. I dont think
that the senators can bring closure to this controversy because of partisanshi
p among its members.. These hearings "in aid of legislation" are simply being u
tilized by some of them to get media mileage and to advance their selfish agend
a. Did something really get resolved in those investigations they conducted in
the past? Nothing really. But most of those accusers who ran in the recent elec
tion won.
Its really a waste of taxpayers money if we allow our legislators to c
ontinuosly deprive us of laws that can truly benefit our people, especially thos
e that could help improve our ailing economy. Enough of these masquerades. I ho
pe they can focus more attention in legislating than investigating. And if they
really want to have executive powers added to their legislative duties, why don
t they spearhead the transformation of our country's form of goverment from pre
sidential to parliamentary(unicameral). In that case, they can only have themse
lves to blame whenever things go wrong.

Judging from recent history, this issue will fizzle out in the end. How? Indict
ments will be filed, court hearings conducted, public grandstanding will come f
rom the Left and the Right (least to say our beloved politicians aiming for the
highest office), media investigations, headlines. But swift and transparent ju
stice? Disappointingly, after 1 or 2 years this will be forgotten. And we're ta
lking about a "kingmaker" here who'll use his leverage to protect himself. Pull
him down and he'll drag the whole crew down by spilling the beans on the last
election. Wake up people! Change first happens with our own thoughts and action
s (remember, we voted these guys into office in the firstplace), then collectiv
ely as a nation. Who knows the Philippines may still have a chance?

Abalos is a dangerous person, yeah, he can look at you eye to eye w/o blinking.
You what hurt me most, they are lot of dying filipinos in hunger. And yet thes
e Greedy and corrupt officials enjoy and spend our money. Enough on corruption
PLEASE. Hope we all help each other to bring out the truth and I hope Mister Zu
biri will pursue his so called BIOFUEL.He is now a senator, where's the bio fue
l now.

Let's just consider the one who is less evil for those in positions who are thr
owing among themselves allegations and denials... If there's in actuality of
âKARMA" then the most awful among them will be the first to suffer the end resu
lt of their horrific doings, then the rest will follow consequently...and I alw
ays pray for it for the sake of their victims (the people).

They must be ill with now for what they have done to their constituents. They
has to pay for that⦠MAY GOD BLESS US ALL and send us TRUE LEADERS who will s
erve and protect the peopleâs right.

Parepareho lang silang mag-ama. Sourgraping lang kasi natalo nga. Sa Cagayan ng
a eh hindi cya nanalong mayor eh sarili niyang lugar yun. Yun namang mga senado
r na kala mo judge, huwag ninyo nang ituloy ang imbestigasyon. Kung talagang yo
u are after the truth then sa right forum ninyo dalhin sa korte dahil paano mo

gipilde ug taga-bukid". hehehe kakahiya.

abalos will lose...he is d most corrupt gov't official now a days, before and a
fter election....sana kunin ka na ni Lord.....

abalos must be tried in the proper courts and not by the crooked senators who a
re merely using it for political grandstanding (lalo na sa mga presidentiables
villar, roxas and lacson).

style yan ni villar..at diyan siya sumikat.

the pimentels are indeed very annnoying politicians. father like son wika nga.

The latest breaking news...abalos is out of the hole..Secretary Neri did not he
ar Chairman Abalos correctly when he said "Secreary may 200 ka dito"..according
to abalos,,,it was 200 worth of load he sent Neri...not 200million!

TO ALL
I know this to be out of place. Please bear with me. I just want to create aw
areness by choosing the busy forum or the latest.
Do consider Dr. Martin Bautista for the next elections obviously (a senatorial
candidate of âAng Kapatiranâ together with Adrian Sison and Zosimo Paredes). H
eâs a 45-year-old gastroenterologist in the US who came home after 17 years. Y
ou can see from his background that he truly means service. For those who find
him to be a hypocrite for working abroad, do understand heâs a family man who
needs to sustain his family, that he will be able to keep his independence by n
ot relying on public funds to support his family. He helps his countrymen in h
is capacity but itâs just not enough for there are millions of Filipinos. Itâs
a good start in Philippine Politics to have him and his party around.
I urge you to forward/text/inform all your contacts about them. I believe they
only lack exposure thatâs why Iâm doing this. But I canât do it alone so Iâm
appealing to everyoneâs help. If all will inform their contacts about them and
urge them as well to forward, we might hit a million.
We cannot afford to be indifferent now if we want meaningful change. Otherwise
we only have ourselves to blame. BUT TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

BTW, Iâve posted this on the different topics just to be sure.

Come on guys! What do you expect? This administration needs a lot of liars to c
over up a lot of lies and Abalos is one of them. Gloria has to keep him around.
Until when they will continue doing this, I do not know. There seems to be no
stopping. One lie has to be covered by another lie...until we find ourselves in
the middle of lies that we cannot discern truth anymore.

Rich and Butyok: I share with the young Pimentel his views. Given the circumst
ance, I will say the same thing. Between the young Pimentel and Abalos, I will
believe the young Pimentel. I am sure his father taught him well.

John Eric Cagulcol: the senior Pimentel is still one of the best and the bright
est we have in the Senate. Yes, the most respectable of them all, I believe. I
do not understand why you are so pissed with them when it is Abalos who has bee
n lying through his teeth.

I understand Koko's comments. Considering the questionable votes in Maguindanao
which made Zubiri win is enough reason for Koko's comments against Abalos. Its
easy to accept defeat if you lose fairly but if you lose due to inclusion of q
uestionable votes (courtesy of Bedol) is another thing. Anyway, we are all enti
tled to our opinions, and so is Koko. I did not vote for him nor for Zubiri but
I do believe he is the winner and not Zubiri. Remember, only the votes from Ma
guindanao made Zubiri win. If it will be excluded Koko will be the winner...As
for Abalos, well, even if he will convince some people that he is innocent, but
he will surely not convince the true Judge of all mankind. So Abalos, start fe
aring your Creator for He will be the final Judge of all your "doings"...

whoooooooo........

pare pareho lang yang mag yan SINUNGALING.........

bakit galit ang congressman at senador.........

kasi hindi sila kaparte sa hatian.........

Ben Abalos was cuddling both Bedol and Garcilliano. This is why they are both
still free to roam around and taunt the justice system. This is why they are st
ill lauging at us ' The Filipino People". This is a no-brainer. Abalos was the
head lapdog that ran the massive cheating machinery that serves his masters Gl
oria and Mike Arroyo.

But alas, sa bandang huli - inilaglag din ang laging nakabungisngis aso na si B
en Aw aw.. Abalos..

We've all seen his latest interviews on TV. How he makes bungisngis for no app
arent reason. He is such a bad actor. He deserves his comeuppance. Walang mi
ntis ang kasabihan na... what goes around, comes back around... Take that Ben A
balos. You may not go to jail now or in the near future because of the messed u
p justice system that we have, but everyone will all know what you are really m
ade of. You will leave a legacy of graft, corruption and shame. Mahiya ka nam
an sana. Pati ang mga apo mo na walang kamalay-malay, idinadamay mo sa mga kab
ulukan mo. Maawa ka naman sa kanila. Habangbuhay nilang dadalhin ang kahihiy
an na idinulot mo sa kanila. For their sake, you can still vindicate and redeem
yourself by telling the "TRUTH". You cannot cover up a lie with more layers o
f lies, lalo kang mababaon sa putik.
