N-Age Online: An Old Game for the New Age

It’s tough to dismiss something when it’s holding a big sign saying, “Try me, I’m free!” And while we Filipinos continue to indulge in amassing online games hell-bent on world domination from the land that gave us kimchi and sticky hair, these things are just gonna keep coming. N-Age, from Korean game developer Cedar Online and published locally by the upstart company GPLAYON, Inc. is yet another subtle entry into the, let’s admit it, overcrowded market of MMORPGs.
A New World
The titular N-Age refers to the Neo Age that is supposedly the new calendar age of the game world. After humanity suffers from and crumbles under the burden of ceaseless, rampaging wars, the last remaining human survivors finally managed to establish as best a civilization as they could. This new world came to be known as the Rebirth World. The pinnacle of this rebirth was manifested in the completion of the Sun City, Centerville — mankind’s greatest triumph yet; an all-important bastion of the new age and the singular source of the entire world’s energy through its solar-absorbing characteristics. However, just as humanity finally recovers its proud heritage, a war between a confederation of small groups, the United Union, and the ruling family behind the Gate Master, protector of civilization, breaks out.
After downloading the game and going through the motions of installing and clicking on the “I Agree” button, yada yada, you may create your character from only four character classes.
Speedy and agile, the Martial Class has the highest defensive rating and HP count of all characters, making him a fantastic choice for a tank character in a party. The Brandish Class prefers slicing and pounding over defensive gimmickry. Utilizing skills the Brandish class is able to strike down multiple foes in one go. Armed with only a wand, the Chakra Class is weak in melee combat, but from a long range, his assortment of magical spells and skills will wreak havoc on any and all kinds of enemies. As a support character, the Prana Class is fit for the job. Using pistols, shotguns, machine guns and what have you, the Prana Class attacks the fastest.
