Search on for Lineage II’s GameGirls

Asian Media Development Group, publisher of massively multiplayer online roleplaying games Lineage II and Guildwars, has finally joined the beauty bandwagon as it launches the search for what is coming to be known as the L2-SEA GameGirls.

Here’s an excerpt from their introduction to the contest:

“L2-SEA GameGirls, a brainchild of AMDG, is one of a kind (sic) competition that showcases not only the young women’s beauties but also their talent, charm, and wit to vie for an exclusive recording contract from Sony BMG Music Entertainment, talent management contract, an endorsement deal worth PhP100,000 (about USD 2,000), and tons of fabulous prizes from corporate sponsors.

“From the numerous aspiring femmes, 22 hopeful candidates will undergo series of rigorous challenges and events. But it does not stop thereâ€???every week, they (sic) will be trimmed until the judges have chosen the five most deserving talented beauties. These five will be groomed and trimmed to become the most anticipated girl group in the music and entertainment industry today, which will soon be launched as the official Lineage II South-East Asia GameGirls!”

It’s not immediately clear, however, how they’ve chosen the candidates and if they are all Filipinos (considering the contest’s title has a regional ring to it).
