GM Kumiko Interview Part I and II: Introductions and Experiences
Everything has a beginning. In this part, we are able to learn about GM Kumiko and her “GM-ey” ways.
The Doctor: When did you start as a GM?
GM Kumiko: I started as a GM January last year.
The Doctor: Would it be okay if I ask your age? What’s your age? (*snicker)
GM Kumiko: I’m as old as my tongue and a little bit older than my teeth. 
[The Doctor thinks: Ahhh… The most common answer for old… I mean MATURE people]
The Doctor: What is the most enjoyable thing in being a GM?
GM Kumiko: The fact that I work in an environment where everyone else seems to not have outgrown their inner child. Also, you get to go to different places.
[The Doctor thinks: I hate travelling. I really didn’t go by land from Mindanao to Luzon last summer because I really really hate travelling… Erm.]
The Doctor: What is the downside in being a GM?
GM Kumiko: Definitely when something happens in the game and people suddenly blame it all on you, even if the responsibility for it is not entirely ours.
Part II: Experiences
All GM’s have many experiences. In this part we manage to talk about some of the general experiences GM Kumiko had. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I haven’t asked anything else. Enjoy!
The Doctor: What is the funniest experience you have as a GM?
GM Kumiko: I guess the most recent would be during the Heart of Pang event in Shade. The players were supposed to form the outline of a huge heart and there was this one player in the middle of the heart-shaped formation who said, “Enge ng penya kundi hindi ako aalis dito sa gitna!” And in Bubble was a player dressed as Santa going around saying, “Ho ho ho.” I found it hilarious for some reason.
On the mean side, I find it amusing (and sad at the same time) whenever a player who got himself “hacked” on purpose comes to us begging to restore his lost account and items.
[The Doctor thinks: A… Sadist? Oooh I like. I think I like you… for some strange reason.]
The Doctor: Since, it’s valentines. Has a player confessed love to your GM character before? I mean, seriously.
GM Kumiko: Uhm… Haha. I don’t think most cyber “love” confessions should be taken seriously.
[The Doctor thinks: *kicks a can* It can be taken seriously… it can… it… can… *cries in the corner*]
