Love Bytes: MMO’s Celebrate Valentines (Part 1)

Valentines is still in the air as Philippine online games still continue their Valentine events. Popular online games adapted the season of love onto their games. It appears that many chose to date in-game. Strolling around on other online games, I came across very interesting Valentine events. I know that there are lots of Valentine events on almost all MMORPG but there are several events that really took my interest. There will be two parts of this article. On this post, we will tackle on how hardcore games celebrated the season of hearts.

First off is MU’s Valentine’s day wedding bash. Sacrificing Fairy Elves now gets the popularity they deserve since they are only the female players in-game. The game will conduct weddings starting from February 14 – 17. Yes, even a hardcore game has a heart but it’s not all bells and beux. After they wed, newlyweds will fight each other to claim an ultimate prize. Well, you gotta hand it to MU Online, atleast they had a wedding. Since MU has not much character customization… how about male characters with female hearts? One can only imagine.

Khan online on the other hand was a bit subtle. They had a Warrior’s heart whereas monsters will start dropping baskets and players will get to combine these baskets with chocolates and candies sold on an NPC. Synthesizing or fusing the chocolates, candies, and basket will form a Wrapped Basket. They have the option to send the Wrapped Basket to a loved one or use it for themselves. These baskets, when used, will act as Slates

that gives fame. Prior to this in-game automated event is another event that will enable players to win a +9 10^th level ring. The top 3 characters that will receive the most baskets will win that ring.
