Gamers: Mai a.k.a. Morrigan Erinyes/Tukneneng
This edition of the Gamer Interview Sessions shines the spotlight on Mai who also goes by the names Morrigan Erinyes/Tukneneng. Dubbed “Krasabol” Mai by some players, we asked about her Guild A.R.M.S. in RF online, what her favorite games are, her saddest moment while playing RF and much much more.

Game!: Hello! Introduce yourself to our readers:
I’m not really comfortable giving out my real name on the net. However I use the pseudonyms Tukneneng and Morrigan Erinyes. People call me Tuks, Morri and by my nickname, Mai.
Game!: Your location?
Cavite.
Game!: Still at school or already working? Can you state where?
I finished school. I’m still unemployed but currently working on a project.
Game!:When did you start playing online games?
I think that was around 2003.
Game!:What was your first online game? How did you find it?
My first online game was Ragnarok. I bumped into it when one day I was bored and had nothing to do. I looked for my PC games and found the RO CD that my cousin gave me.
Game!: What made you to play online games?
I got curious as to how online games work.
Game!:What should an online game have to appeal to you? (like graphics, sounds, f2p etc)
Definitely the game play and next would be the graphics.
Gaming Experience
Game!:Kindly state your gaming experience:
I got hacked and scammed for the first (and the last) time in Ragnarok Online. I was also cursed at when I tried to sell a Wind of Verdure for 50k. Hey! It was my first time! I have a priest, a dancer and an assassin (which is still married to my friend’s blacksmith) in my character bank. I never sold nor gave out my items even if I’m not playing the game anymore.
Then I tried ROSE during its open beta. I got fairly popular for answering all their questions in the newbie grounds. Most common question was where to change job XD
RF Online came and suddenly I got hooked. I was constantly posting on their boards. I was so active that I was elected as a Boards Archon for 5 months. With my friends, we’d always attend game try outs and events.
I tried Granado Espada during close beta but I didn’t play that long.
Currently, I’m not actively playing any online games. Although I log in RF from time to time and I post at their boards.
Game!: Which games, both online and offline, would you classify as your favorites?
For offline games, first game on my list is Final Fantasy series starting FFVII. Then there’s Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Command and Conquer and StarCraft to name a few. As for online games, so far it’s RF Online.
Generally, on offline games, I like their game play and graphics especially FF. I prefer action/adventure, puzzle, and some strategy genre. I like violence, gore and blood! Hahaha! RF Online, on the other hand, is where I am so involved with the community. I love the community! The game is just an added factor.
Game!: Try to imagine that you’re trying to convince someone to play your favorite online game. How would you do it? What would you say?
*ahem* RF Online is a 3 race vs race game which is comprised of Accretia, Bellato and Cora. This is where strategy takes place on a larger scale. Imagine yourself going on a “war? with rest of the “race.? (Not party. Not guild) especially during Chip Wars. “Racemates? should work harmoniously for supremacy. And as far as I know, this is the only game here in the Philippines where robots exist *evil grin*

Game!: Did you have an experience playing an online game that didn’t appeal to you?
Yeah. Granado Espada. I was disappointed considering that I’ve been hearing “good stuff? about it. Like they say:, “To each his own.?
Game!: What aspects of the game turned you off?
It’s the three-avatars-in-one-control feature. Forgot what it’s called. (It is called Multi Character Control or MCC - Ed.) I was able to play during its Open Beta and that feature doesn’t promote community at all. It’s more of a soloist game rather than a party game. Although you can make squads, you’re pretty much good on your own. I can’t keep up a conversation with a friend because there’s so much to do. Another thing is the shortcut keys. I don’t think they’re properly assigned (E for Inventory?). And lastly, Victorian theme isn’t my cup of tea.
Game!: Put yourself in the shoes of a game developer, what game would you like to develop and why? Which systems from the current online games would you incorporate?
I don’t know. I haven’t really thought about it.
Ingame Relationships
Game!: Do you have an in-game best friend/s?
None. But I have a handful of guildmates whom I trust.
Game!: What are their/his/her screen name and what game did you met him/her/them?
AHAHAHAHA!!! Magugulat ‘tong mga ‘to kapag nakita nila pangalan nila dito! Ahahaha!!
His finkness Hastet ang malupit naming Scientist. Si 026DS na nangre-raid mag-isa kahit level 30+ palang. Si Walker, Darc, si SolidSnake. Dun sa mga nakalimutan ko, labs ko parin kayo. XD

Game!: Are you part of a guild?
Yup! I’m one of the original founders of ARMS (Accretia Regime’s Military Strikeforce).
Game!: What game is this guild located and can you give us a short info about the guild?
My guild is found in Altrax server of RF Online. ARMS was made back when RF is still in Open Beta. It’s the 3rd guild made in Accretia. To date, it’s one of the oldest guilds in the server.

Game!: If you can remember, how did you guys meet? What guild activities do you usually do?
The original founders met through RF Boards. When LU had a promo for guilds, we made a meeting through online conference and formed a guild. The rest is history.
We occasionally hold EBs, join real life events, PL and raid in-game.
Game!: Funniest Moment while playing RF Online?
I have several funny moments but this is the recent.
I was online the whole day in RF because there’s a modified rate of x2 pt, drop and mine. While waiting for the ship, somebody approached me and said,
Accretian: hi miss
Morrigan: hello
Accretian: pilot ka po?
Morrigan: nope
Accretian: so ikaw si myla?
Morrigan: uh… yeah
Accretian: yung sikat sa friendster po?
Morrigan: ha?
Morrigan: sikat?
Accretian: tawag sa iyo sa cafe namin “krasabol Mai”
Morrigan: @_____@
Accretian: uu
Morrigan: sinong “kayo”?
Accretian: daming nag quit ng ran dahil nakita pic mo sa friendster
Morrigan: haaa?!
Morrigan: saan po cafe nyo?
Accretian: sa davao po
Morrigan: oh!
Accretian:
Accretian: idol namin si anteryon
*ship came*
Morrigan: sige po nandito na ship
Morrigan: LOL
I was laughing the whole time I talked to that guy. Then I later found out who that player is! XD
Game!: Saddest Moment while playing RF Online
It was when we had to leave the “original? guild and make a new one because lots of members were inactive already; and we were having a hard time kicking them out one by one.
Game!: Do you believe in finding love in online games?
In game? No. I met my boyfriend through real-life events of this game though.
Game!: With so much role playing on online games, do you believe that maybe just maybe, one of those you just pWn3d is Mr/Ms perfect?
So far, I have only killed a few. I’m not really the pvp type. But to answer your question, it’s actually the other way around. My boyfriend was the one who pawned me during a chipwar. XD
Final Thoughts
Game!: What can you say about online gaming in the Philippines right now? There are a lot of new games coming out to compete with those currently in service…
I’m an RPG type of player. I like to explore, interact and sometimes role-play. It’s nice to know that publishers are getting more of these. More games to choose from. But what will separate these games from one another is the community. I hope more games will have (more) “good communities? because that’s when a player will really enjoy playing and are most likely to stay on that game.
Game!: What advice can you give to individuals seeking to jump into the fascinating world of online gaming?
1. There are two types of players – the good and the bad. Learn to ignore the bad and not be one of them.
2. Don’t let the game control you. Online games can be addicitive. Always prioritize real life matters.
3. If you’re a guy, be careful of G.I.R.L.S. - Guys In Real Life.
4. Don’t cheat. Play fair.
5. Don’t give out your username and password. Be paranoid regarding your account.
6. Double check your items before you finalize a trade.
7. Don’t whine just for the sake of whining.
8. Help yourself first. Learn to be independent.
9.. Be careful on whom to befriend.
10. Read and understand the agreement first before registering an account.
11.. ENJOY THE GAME!
