Perfect World: Clan versus clan

Malystryx says

Want to know what it feels like to participate in a clan battle in Perfect World? We’re not talking arena party versus party battles but large scale, siege warfare with arrows and spells flying, swords and axes swinging, and catapults unloading deadly barrages. Here’s a video of the battle for Tradewind between the Guardians and the Qin Mercenaries in Perfect World Philippines’ Tiger Server. Just ignore the crappy music and make do with the low resolution.

Now that you’ve watched it, take that bit of awe and adrenaline and multiply them tenfold. That’s the feeling players get whenever they come face to face with opposing human-controlled opponents.

“I felt my adrenaline surging that I was banging the table, kicking whatever’s under it, and yelling at the computer monitor,” says Guardians member Trixxicon, who plays a Yao Shou (or beastman) in the game. “It’s really hard to control emotions. Tempers will flare and rough words–words you don’t really mean–will be exchanged. At the end of the day, you’ll feel exhausted even if you just sat the entire time in front of your computer.”

Aside from the Guardians and the Qin Mercenaries, several other clans of Perfect World Philippines got their first taste of jaw-dropping slugfest last weekend, including IPX, which threw everything at Qin in a bid to claim Near Water Town on the Tiger Server, and Trinity and Phoenix, trading blows over Dragon Lane and Shadow Plateau on the Dragon Server.
