Curtis Strange, Hubert Green and Se Ri Pak were inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in ceremonies in St. Augustine, Florida Monday.
Strange snared consecutive US Open titles in 1988 and 1989, a feat only achieved previously by Ben Hogan in 1950-51. Green meanwhile had 19 career victories, including two majors—the 1977 US Open and the 1985 PGA Championship.
Pak had a sensational rookie season in 1998 wherein she was a relatively unknown, non-English speaking South Korean who joined the LPGA tour. She won two titles that year—the LPGA Championship and the US Women’s Open, wherein she shot 61, currently the LPGA scoring record. She had since paved the way for the influx of Korean women golfers in the international circuit.
