FINALLY, Philippine online game publisher IP e-Games has set a date for the launch of Hellgate: London.

The game will be launched on Nov. 29 at the SM Director’s Club at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

In a statement, Intellectual Property Ventures Group CEO Enrique Gonzalez said the game will be the company’s “yearend gift to gamers.”

“We will be announcing the launch of a massive triple-A title in the Philippines which
has been highly anticipated by many hardcore gamers. This title will redefine the online gaming experience,” Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez made good on his earlier promise that they would soon have an official announcement on Hellgate: London, as shown in this video interview conducted by INQUIRER.net reporter Erwin Oliva on Nov. 13.

IPVG is the parent company of IP e-Games, which will launch Hellgate: London in partnership with Singaporean game distributor Infocomm Asia Holdings in the Philippines.

Hellgate: London is a PC action role-playing game developed by Flagship Studios, which was set up by former employees of US developer Blizzard.

It was officially launched in Singapore on Oct. 31 and in the US and Europe on Nov. 1 and 2, respectively.

The game is set in a post-apocalyptic London where humans are fighting demons using magic-enhanced modern weapons.

This has got to be the worst game i’ve spent my money on. For all its shininess, it failed in game play and gamer interaction. Non-verbal npc dialogue = boring. Repetitive enemies = boring. Repetitive items with no real improvements = boring. Insufficient inventory space = frustration, along with most drops being un-equipable by my character = stupid. Only the trailer/intro cinematic and end are worth watching, but still i’d give the end cinematic a C grade. I do not want to spend time looking at a stupid book with a really bad narrator every time i finish a quest that furthers the game plot. Every cinematic in D2 were memorable because they actually had something to do with the events surrounding you. It also helped that stuff moved. Again, staring at a book is not interesting. The game doesn’t have a problem with just bugs and glitches, it has a serious flaw in game play.

i think IPVG is just making lots of noise so that it can list and do an IPO. Have you looked at their businesses and their offerings? All are half baked…

what are the system requirements of this game? if it runs only on the uber zigabyte rams and vc’s, i doubt it would appeal to the average Filipino gamer.

When they released Diablo II few years back, the game was buggy. But Blizzard people (now they run Flagship), fixed and tremendously improve the game within 3 months time.

Have a faith with these guys at Flagship. I expected IP egames to make Hellgate London No 1 game in Philippine :-)
