THE PHILIPPINE Team (Team PH) won via disqualification versus the team from Japan in their first match for the Supreme Destiny World Championship League.

Team Japan’s GM was in the arena, but after only five members of their team arrived, the handlers of the game, With Your Destiny (WYD) Global decided to disqualify Team Japan in this round. A team must have a minimum of 13 members to compete. As for Team PH, all of the 26 starting members and even the four reserve members were present.

Team PH will face the Global Team composed of players from all over the world who play on the international servers in their next match scheduled Friday, February 22.

Here’s a photo of Team PH going out for pizza after they were declared the winners.

“We were already prepared, but practiced for an extra two hours before the match began anyway. It was sort of disappointing, with what happened with Japan, but a win is a win,” said Sonny Carlos, IP e-Games assistant (Editor’s note: Carlos handed an old business card with his former official designation by mistake.) product manager for Supreme Destiny.

Most of the members were at the Team PH HQ at i-Hooked Cafe in Katipunan. One even flew in from Cebu to join the team here. Other team members logged on to the Kingdom War Map remotely from Cebu, and one even as far away as Korea.

The Supreme Destiny World Championship League pits teams from various countries using the medieval massively multiplayer online role- playing game’s Kingdom War System. The objective is to slay the leader of the other team within the allotted time frame. At stake is a total of $10,000 in cash prizes and rare in-game items.
