nice one. my officemates can always tell when i'm stumped: i pace the floor, take an office tour or wear the carpet ragged. taking a walk does help...

Well, someone needs to tell employers about this little trick. Once they see an employee loitering, expect a dressing down. :P
Walking can be the best way for some relaxation specially when in a tense situation. I think its the surrounding we come across which diverts our attention, in no time we find ourselves thinking of something else, our attention is diverted from the tensions and stress to the objects we see around us. We start connecting those objects to something to someone and thats how we find something else to think about. Most of us take a break and go out for a walk when we want to bring under control an unpleasant situation and its a wise decision. Walking is truly an important solution in anger management but other then that walking is also good for health, a very good exercise and we get some quality time to socialize as well.
