"Life is 10% the situation and 90% how you react to it."

When I stumbled upon this quote in a magazine, my mind never let go of it. It resonated with me so well. It is the truth after all.
You can choose to be happy, you can choose to be sad. You can choose to be angry, you can choose to be calm. Emotions push us to act on something. It's up to us which emotions we want to move forward with.
Water is accidentally spilled on your shirt by the waiter. Do you angrily lash out at him, calling him names and reporting it to his manager? Do you take deep breaths and try to keep your calm, understanding that accidents happen? Whichever one you choose does create a chain of events. How you react is all in your hands.
It's all a matter of perspective. Let's take life for what it is. It is indeed a series of situations and a series of our own and other's reactions. So the next time a situation comes our way, perhaps remembering this quote might help. Maybe our emotions ride so strongly we neglect to see how easily the situation could've been solved, and perhaps the situation isn't as daunting after all.
Yes, I agree. Reason must prevail over emotion.
I already this 10%-90% perspective in an article a year ago. I even shared it to my co-workers.
Working and dealing with clients and tight deadlines is indeed stressful for me. However applying this kind of mentality and attitude helps me to keep on the race.
It is really effective. I just hope all of us will learn to practice this kind of mind set.
Thank you for posting his one. I will surely consider it.

I believe the author was Chuck Swindoll of Grace Community Church in So. California. I heard him preach about this on his radio program many years ago.
But just a human you are allowed to feel mixed emotions..so there's no wrong to be mad, aslong you know to handle ur emotions,to be sad just to express wat insight.but.at the end the important is you learn that everything happen has own purpose and reason for another journey of life..

Its natural to react because we human beings are wired in such a way that we react to situations and emotions, feelings, sentiments, etc, are all a part and parcel of reactions. No two persons are the same so how we react to situation depends on how we view the whole thing and how we manage the incident. If someone spills wine over my new dress I'd definitely go wild but trying to be more calmer can certainly prevent a situation from becoming disaster. I think trying to handle the situation in a good way is the best management.
