m|ph October

Have you gotten your October issue of m|ph yet?

MPH Cover, October 2004 It features a new paper stock, crisper colors, and is very, very orange. What’s more, you can now bend, spindle and fold your mobile magazine for better portability!
The issue centers on mobile entertainment, and includes a shootout of hard disc-based MP3 players, a look at the Blackberries and push technology, playing movies on your mobile devices, and a roundup of multimedia laptops, among others.
It may have arrived a bit later than usual, but that’s because we had to do something about that strange smell of freshly baked m|ph that plagued our previous issue. That, and the new paper, required some fresh logistics. But we’re okay now, folks!

We’d love to hear your opinions about our new paper stock!

Happy reading!

The smell is definitely gone but the paper is so waif-like. When I got home after buying it at National Bookstore, the pages are lukot. I’m not used to have my magazines’ pages (especially the front cover) to be lukot. huhuhu… still, congrats and thank you for the issue. I wuv it. ^_^

The issue is great! The new paper you’ve used definitely eliminated the odor. I, however, find it waif-like. It’s so thin that it’s easy for it to be lukot immediately. I’m not used to have my magazines’ pages (particularly the front cover) to be lukot. I guess I have to live with it. ^_^ You guys totally rock!

apart from the smell, the colors are really vibrant and crisp… the gadgets reviewd almost leaps of the pages.

in short: ang galing!

My… my… the odd smell is gone! Thank God! But its so thin, your thinest issue so far. The orangy cover is really cool but I noticed the backgrounds on the pages inside are pretty simple compared to your previous issues but its all good, I was still looking forward to reading Jayvee’s straight forward articles anyways. Ü Also, I noticed… you used to have this columnist opinions about a certain product. You feature one and the four has a say. I miss those. Pros and Cons. You guys are the best when it comes to reviews and you don’t even have to have sexy women (ehem. almost naked) on your covers, makes you guys a lot different from other tech mags. More Power to m|ph!!!

my mom saw it and accidentally cut the centerfold ad saying there was a mistake in the paper cutting.

my mom is funny.

Media Whatever
I just picked up the October issue of m|ph today. Hmm, what can I say? Paper seems a bit thinner but feels good. Though I didn’t buy the magazine for the paper now, did I? :)

This issue was jam-packed with stuff on mobile multimedia. Reading throug…

I just got my copy an hour ago, and nainis ako sa babaeng nasa counter ng National Bookstore… akalain mo ba namang i-fold yung pinakamamahal kong m-ph? hehehe. I feel awkward holding an m-ph inside the jeepney…. sana nga lang sa christmas issue ninyo eh mayroong parang gift basket na nakabalot doon, ano?

Hey, hey, hey… just got a copy of your October issue today (yeah, your mag reaches this part of the Philippines (Cagayan de Oro that is) kinda late!)! I’ve been purchasing it for quite some time now and I’ve witnessed its evolution from the nice glossy regular-sized mag into a “ginormous” tabloid-sized mag. Just a couple of itsy bitsy comments regarding your mag. I’ve read quite a number of people complaining regarding its new size and initially, I also hated it. But I eventually learned to live with it and loved it (because I can easily identify your mag amongst other mags ‘coz it literally stands out due to its size). But what really bothered me is the quality of the paper of your current issue (October 2004)! The new paper stock is alarmingly thin that it easily crumples and tears apart (the new crisper color is a nice improvement though)!!! And that’s not a good thing. Aside from that, I still enjoy reading your mag and constantly visit your blogsite to keep me updated of the latest technology and mobile gadgets.

There was nothing wrong with the old paper IMO. The smell didn’t bother me that much either. I thought this paper quality was so thin and would easily tear and it can’t stand on its own like the previous issues but I love the content just the same.

Ayan nakakuha na ako sa Jenra Mall sa Angeles City pa. Nagpista na naman ang mga mata namin sa gadgets. As always, I liked your section on featured apps. I already downloaded the PortaBush program, hehe.

I noticed that there’s no Young Blog again this issue. Wala na ba talaga? :p

I’ve always been an avid reader of m-ph, I make sure that i dont skip a copy every month. but looking back at my previous copies, I’ve noticed quite a difference from the first issue to our now present issue october. basically i think the last 3 issues have lacked informations about the gadgets reviewed. What I mean is that unlike the early days of our dear m-ph, the gadgets now lack that “kick” of a review that you guys have provided then.

I now rely on this magazine before I buy a particular gadget. Like when you reviewed the N3300, it was truly informative and unbiased that I myself agree with you no doubt (I didnt bought it after I proved that the review was right).

so what happened now? Im kinda upset with my last 3 copies coz like I said, lack of info. Hey I want you to bring back the real essence of m-ph! I believe in you guys that is why I know you can do better than just give us the approximities of a battery life! Is this too much to ask?

Keep it up guys, We believe in you.

I was trying to avoid buying your mag simply because its awkwardly sized. Wont fit nice and clean with the rest of my mags in my coffee table. Finaly bought one middle of November…..what no november issue yet! Binili ko pa rin coz nabili ko na lahat ng gadget mag for that month. Its everything a gadget mag should be except its awkwardly sized.

Thank you and more power m-ph!

i love the issue! i recently bought an Ngage game deck and my decision was largely influenced by your mag! thanks and more power!
