Friendster on your Phone

OMG just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, Friendster is now mobile!

Terence Pua, founder of local startup Pusit and Philippine affiliate of Friendster, has told INQ7.net that it will unveil a service called Friendster Mobs next month.

friendster on mobile old news: http://you.inq7.net/gear/11232004/tec3-1.htm

or this is a re-launch with a new brand name? The old service already has SMS, MMS, and WAP capability so im confused when the news say “There will be no downloading of any software client in your computer or mobile phone.” therefore j2me based application is out of the question.

Anyway if you have a series60 nokia phone you can download the S60 browser from nokia which allows you to view friendster or any webpages on phone at almost full glory of a web browser. Its is a sign that there could be a shift from traditional access to full web access very soon which mar hurt traditional VAS.
