iPhone? I don’t think so…

Steve Jobs put to rest all rumors about Apple venturing into the phone industry when he unveiled Apple’s latest baby, the iPhone. It will be initially released in the U.S. in June of this year, then Europe during the fourth quarter, and Asia next year. Bummer. However, China’s Meizu might spoil Apple’s iPhone debut in Asia if things go according to plan. With the sleek silver body and absent keypad, it’s a dead ringer for an iPhone, except for the fact that it runs on Windows, of course. Meizu’s MiniOne, formerly known as M8, is actually different from the iPhone in more ways. The following is a comparison of the two:

Based on the comparison, the MiniOne is really looking like a contender with its specs. Also, since China is developing this phone, it will be no surprise if it hits Philippine shores before the iPhone does. That is, if Steve doesn’t make any new announcements regarding the release of the iPhone internationally. I’m crossing my fingers that he does.
