Back in May, we reported that the new line of RAZR phones have been unveiled and now, the first RAZR2 phone has reached our country: the V8.
Unfortunately, among the three models, this is perhaps the weakest model. Nevertheless, it’s still an impressive upgrade from its ancestors. Sporting a much thinner and elegant profile, it packs in a fast 500 MHz processor, a large 2-inch multifunctional external touch screen, Bluetooth, EDGE, 2-Megapixel camera and runs on a Linux OS. Due to the improved processor, it should be more responsive and faster, and the external multipurpose touch screen is an innovation that I bet others will soon follow. Specification wise, it seems like a decent upgrade, that is, if you still own the early batch of RAZR phones.
This model lacks the now common 3G connectivity and secondary camera which recent RAZR models such as the RAZR Maxx come equipped with. It’s priced a little short of P 20,000.00 and for that price; I feel a little ripped off due to the lack of modern features. I’d rather wait for the 3G-enabled V9 instead.

i think it is such a wrong move for motorola not to include 3G here. My V3xx even has HSDPA. what's up moto peeps?
It understandable for them to come up with a non-3G phone if they want to capture a larger piece of the market, but what's not consistent here is the price. Most non-3G phones are a whole lot cheaper than 3G enabled phones, but the V8 is a contradiction in itself. It's priced way up high with some high-end and low-end features. Gadget junkies might be turned off because of the price, but I bet fashionistas who could care less for the features fall head over heels over this clamshell.
I am a moto fan myself, but the V8 is disappointing. I can get a cheaper phone with 3G capabilities these days for a lot less of a price
I'm planning to have one of this unit but seeing your comments guys seems that it's somewhat expensive for it's features. I think i will just get high-end motorola handyphone then. Btw, im having N73 right now, and i find it a little boring considering it's just 1 month old when i got it... :( Nway, thanks guys!
yup, i went to the motorola store and YES my RAZR MAXX rocks considering it has HSPDA.... really broadband speed... faster download and Im quite disappointed to the v8 since it doesnt have video calling.... Yup, i'll wait for the v9 of the MONSTER Z8 with 32G memory with preloaded movies and 16M colors anda kickslider...
still a MOTOFREAK

dunno, i will think about it...
I think the razor is one of the better phones to use. The style of the phone is what i love. It is so easy to use and fits in your pocket.

You should read the xoom review for the Motorola cellphone. It seems that Motorola will always manage to launch some slim models no matter what people say. I for one, am a Motorola fan and do like very slim cells.
