HTC Touch Dual: Best of Both Worlds

Click to enlarge While looking deceptively like its early predecessor, the HTC Touch Dual cunningly hides a 12-key keyboard underneath its sliding main body. Unveiled to the local media last week, it still features the innovative TouchFlo interface and runs on Windows Mobile 6 Professional. It’s HSDPA, UMTS, GPRS and EDGE capable, but Wifi is sorely missing which could have provided users with a much faster and cheaper alternative to the aforementioned standards. A 2-megapixel camera is available for quick snapshots and secondary one likewise included for video calls.

Click to enlarge The available of the Touch Dual adds another model to the fast rising number of multitouch devices in the market which the iPhone spearheads, but I doubt that this unit will make current Touch users switch easily to this new model as it has nothing really new to offer except for the slide-out keypad and actually diminishes its over-all functionality with the removal of Wi-Fi. On the other hand, those who have been turned off by the touch-only input method of the Touch will probably welcome this latest unit from HTC with open arms.

Do you know where to buy this? HTC’s Touch is available at Complink but how about it’s dual version and the price. thanks!

Very nice improvement to the original HTC Touch. No wifi though, but you get the keyboard and double memory.

Any news on when it will be available for sale in the PI, the srp?

Thanks

The increase in memory is good. The keyboard, I’m not so excited about it since its only a 12-key keyboard and not the full QWERTY keypad which would have made typing a breeze, but nevertheless, the improvemnts are most welcome.

Except, of course, for the absence of Wifi which is a real bummer, but I guess some can live without it. :)

I just saw the 16-key (pseudo QWERTY) version for sale at InnoMax Greenhills, 32.5K cash price, 34.5 card. I prefer the 12-key version though, and I’ve heard from some HTC authorized dealers (Mobile1, Xcite Mobile, Accent Micro) that there’s a chance that it might be released first week of December, so stay tuned for that.

Hi can you teach me on how to change the message alert tone.
