Microsoft has released Origami Experience 2.0, an update to its Origami Experience pack of applications that run on Windows Vista-enabled UMPC devices. It consists of three core elements: Origami Central, Orgami Now and a Picture Password.
Origami Central revamps the browser, media interface and RSS reader look, while the Origami Now provide a one-stop portal for all the information that’s important by integrating weather, RSS feeds, e-mail, calendar and to-do widgets in one screen.
The Picture Password is a new security feature which allows you to log-in by tapping on a sequence of points in a picture that does away with the traditional text-input method. It not only makes logging in a bit more fun, but makes it more of a personal experience since you can select a picture of your choice.
There are only a handful of UMPCs available locally so I figure only a minority will take notice of this development, but hey, who’s to complain when it’s a free upgrade?
