FireFox gets Touchy and Mobile
Not so long ago, Mozilla made an announcement that they plan to go into the mobile web business by coming up with a mobile version of FireFox. This new portable version of the resurgent browser, however, won’t be available until FireFox 3 is completed.

Well, FireFox 3 still isn’t out yet, but Mobile FireFox has a couple of screen shots available already of what it would look like so as to gather feedback which they can, in turn, incorporate into the final version. So far, we know that it will come in two variants: a touchscreen version ideal for PDAs and smartphones with touchscreens, and one for traditional keypad-input mobile devices such as mobile phones. Based on the screen shots, the navigation controls are located at the bottom and looks to also support page tabs similar to FireFox’s full version.
While nothing is really certain with this project until its full release, it’s good to know that it’s already in full swing. For the hardcore fanboys who want more, the XUL mockups for both touchscreen and normal devices are available for download for your geeky pleasure.
