Wireless HDTV Now a Reality

While Sharp is proudly touting the world’s thinnest LCD HDTV thanks to its X-Series, that’s not the big news as of the moment. What’s even better than those huge ultra thin LCD TV sets is the new partnership with AMIMON.

Wireless HDTV, is this the future?

Their new tandem is set to offer a new way of enjoying HDTV: wirelessly. Yup, that’s right. AMIMON has developed a technology that will allow video to be transmitted wirelessly up to 100-feet away. That’s great news for neat-freaks and obsessive-compulsive video fanatics who don’t want those cable-management nightmares. Since this is a new technology, the big question now is: will others follow suit and go wireless as well? I guess only time will tell, but this is nevertheless great news in the realm of wireless technology.

I’m not sure if the technolgy will be available locally, but if the Sharp X-Series LCD makes it to the Philippines, check if it’s wireless HDTV ready. If so, it’ll be compatible with the wireless transmitters that will be sold in US and Japan.

HDTV? Publicity in the Philippines! My family recently bought an LCD TV to replace our old “tube” TV. The customer reps of the appliance center were so accomodating at demonstrating the “superb” visual quality and features of the screen. And to tell you, HD pictures rock! Of course we cant wait to have it set up in our house. Unfortunately, our viewing experience wasn’t that “HD” at all. We linked our cable box, and the picture quality? forget it. over the air broadcast from an antenna - never mind. The DVD though is quite astonishing. But do we watch DVD all the time? The problem is, the Philippines doesn’t have HD broadcast and yet appliance centers offers all these HDTV sets as if this is the new standard - well it should be. Singapore already has HD signals. The US will turn off its analog broadcast next year. And where are we? Even over the air analog broadcast of US TV networks are way far better in picture quality than the broadcast we have in the Philippines. Try watching analog ABC, NBC, FOX or CBS in the US and you will be amazed how great their picture looks. And those are not even on HD! All i can say is, if you want to be “cool” and just “brag” about having future proof tech, buy an LCDTV. Then again, until when are you just going to be “cool” or until when will you be just “bragging” and not really enjoying you money’s worth?

What is meaning of HDTV??? Highly Digital TV….This technology is never reach here in the PHils… If you see the advertisement of NATGEO, they will ask you>> Are you ready for HDTV?? in the USA half of their populations are now using HDTV.. The resolutions for this kind of TV is 4 times the resolutions of the normal TV…Sony now is the 1st to develop this kind of TV and its now in Europe and USA. So, what happen to the Philippines, we are far far behind as far as tech is concern..The question is?? if we can afford this kind of technology for the ordinary people of our nation… I dont think so. You know, Filipinos is always fun of imitation. There is no originality….
