Unlocked 3G iPhone Selling for $1K

Order a 3G iPhone through Alibaba for $1000++

Can’t wait to get your hands on an unlocked 3G iPhone? Don’t want to be tied down to a post-paid plan? If this ad we saw on Alibaba is true, you can order one for a starting price of $1,000.00. The ad was posted by Union Camera Limited, but the specs they listed made me think twice about its authenticity. Unless of course they just don’t know how to post a correct and informative ad, but will give them the benefit of the doubt. Besides, this also helps justify the high price that InfoMaxx has pegged on the latest version of the iPhone, which apparently, some customers don’t mind paying just as long as they can get there hands on one. According to the post in Philmug, they’re selling the 8GB version for P61,500 while the 16GB goes for P69,500. Roughly converted, that’s $1,366 and $1,544 respectively.

So, if you don’t have the emotional quotient to wait for the local release and you’re filthy reach, then pick your poison, InfoMaxx or Alibaba?

I don’t really get why people would want to be the first ones to own a gadget when we all know the price will eventually go down after some time? It would be such a waste of money during these hard times.

iphone 2.0 8GB 3G is only $200
it’s possible to sell it unlocked at $300…a little profit…
$1K is totally nonsense…
never pay for that price…

You have to take into consideration the reason for the low price is the subsidized cost shouldered by the telcos. Therefore, if you are able to find an unlocked iPhone, you will have to pay a lot more than just a few bucks since, essentialy, you’re buying out the entire plan in the process.

that is overpricing! it costs only $200…ridiculous!

bragging rights.. guys.. bragging rights!
(telling the world how stupid they are)

A clear scam. Tried using Alibaba for business for the company I worked for
