According to
MobileWhack, the
3G iPhone is set to be released in
42 more countries and that includes us, the
Philippines.
August 22 is the D-Day for all you iPhone-atics out who have been on the edge of their seat waiting for the
local release.

Though I’m quite happy about this bit of info, I’m still a bit skeptical with this one since original
only 22 countries where slated for the release. It was only during
a quarterly conference that the
additional 20 more countries where
announced though no specifics were given according to
Macworld. You also need to take into consideration the
local buzz that's leaning towards a September release date, not August. There's also
Apple’s inability to cope with the demand that has left many would-be buyers frustrated over the fact that they’re
unable to purchase one even in the motherland of the iPhone, the
USA of all places. What more in other countries?
Anyway, it’s still a shade under a month away and I guess that’s enough time for more news to leak out regarding its inevitable local debut. Keep your fingers crossed and stayed tuned guys. The countdown is about to begin.
the question is..how much?
How Much is this phone(in Peso)? and is this available to all networks in the phil? to globe, smart and sun network?
That, my friend, is something we'll have to wait and see.
@James
For now, Globe is the exclusive network provider of the iPhone. So, it won't be surprising if its network-locked as well; but there are a bunch of other ways to make it work with other networks.
here in canada it costs 300.00 excluding tax 16gb
The price could be well the same as the ones advertised but im pretty damn sure this phone will not be available to pre-paid subscribers, (unless otherwise Globe agree to sell locked units with a hefty premium price hmmmm around 26k for the 8G and around 32k for the 16G)nevertheless Hurahhh for Philippines for being listed as one of the recipients...I'm also eager to get my hands on the White 16G...
I guess there's always an easier way ...
