XPERIA X1 to be released on Sept. 30

Sony Ericsson has finally announced the release date of their first Windows Mobile-powered phone, the XPERIA X1. It’s actually rolling out on a per-batch basis similar to how the 2G iPhone premiered all over the world, but this time around, the Philippines is included in the first batch of countries. Below is the complete list of those who are included on the September 30, 2008 release date of the XPERIA X1:

Asia: Indonesia, Singapore, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam

Western Europe: Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Portugal

Central Europe: Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic

Middle East: UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait

Africa: South Africa

Latin America: Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia

Aside from the UK, Germany and Sweden which were initially the first countries only, those not  included in the list above will have to wait for further announcements.

The confirmation of a release date is all well and good, but there’s still the question of price. My guess conservative guess is that it be offered at the P25-30K price range though a more realistic estimate would be P30K++. Anyway, September 30 isn’t that far away so let’s just wait and see how things will pan out for the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 here in the Philippines.

Have you noticed that the UK doesn’t appear in the list, but we will get it on Sep 30 anyway. Very odd!

Hello, The list provided is for the Q4 realease, UK, Germany and Sweden get the phone on the 30th, Thats why none of this countries appeared in the supplied list, thats the list for Q4

This is the complete list of countries aside from Sweden, Germany and the UK who are also getting it on the 30th of September. This is based on a press release Sony Ericsson released regarding the XPERIA X1.

I am looking forward to this device. I’ve used Sony Ericsson products before and was satisfied but I am not a real fan of their OS. I just like their audio and video quality. I am hoping that Windows Mobile’s integration would make this one powerful.

ive been using Nokia e71 but ive been waiting for this phone because i think its superb when it comes to smarty and yet cool phone! :) hope it doesnt cost that much!

No sign of it! It’s now 5th October and silence…

Sony has put the phone on its support site though so perhaps won’t be too much longer?

this phone is not yet out in the market and its already october 15 :) i ask the of sony at robinsons galleria and they said that it will be out on november together with c905 model :)
