Nintendo made sure that with their new DSi they won’t suffer the same criticism that their rival Sony got when they unveiled their new PSP.
The DSi may generally look similar to the DS, but bring out your measuring tape and you’ll discover that this one’s 2.6mm thinner. It also has larger screens measuring in at 3.25-inches, enhanced audio capabilities, an SD card slot, and comes with two cameras. The GBA slot, however, got the boot, but I guess that's a worthy trade-off for the added specs. A DSi shop is also in the works where users can download DSiWare using accumulated Nintendo points (formerly known as Wii points). New DSi owners automatically get free 1000 points to use until March 2010.
It will become available in Japan starting November 1 for ¥18,900 (USD$180). Other markets, including the Philippines I suppose, will get it early next year. It’s about time Nintendo updated their DS console, and by the looks of it, they've done a pretty good job so far.

That's so awsome, I like the idea of the DS Shop thing, wonder if there will be classic handheld games? Maybe even channels? Awsome info!
I'm not very impressed. I was hoping that Nintendo would make the DS product line more powerful. I better processor and a bigger higher resolution screen would have been a pleasant improvement.
I think the DSi would definitely be a good choice for people who do not have a DS, or is planning to buy one.
but as for the DS lite owners (esp the ones who do not necessarily use camera functions) it's not that enticing.
Nice piece of gadget.
It's very nice but I want it now! But well it's worth the wait.
I wish it will be available here in the Philippines next January 2009..
i like the sound of the dsi with its cams!!

ugly piece of crap!! ds lite is way more better!!!
its not that impressing i think it just slimmer there is not much different than the ds lite

Yea! Magkano kaya yan sa pilipinas... Sana mura. Di na ko makapag hintay.. Naligo kase sa swimming pool ung ds lite ko ehh
baduy! saan mo naman gagamitin yung camera? wala pa din sinabi sa psp.. (movies, music, games)
Aww, it seems that there will be DSi-only games to be produced soon...
Hopefully we can also avail of DSi's downloadable content. *starts saving*

Although I'm not against video games, I think that being able to play everywhere is not the right choice... Kids could take such a console at school and instead of paying attention to class... they play... or in the break time... instead of socializing, they play... file extension software
