LG KC780: Another 8-megapixel camera-phone

Lg's got a new monster megapixel camera phone. The LG KC780 features an 8-megapixel camera with a bunch of imaging you won't usually find in typical cam-phones. LG KC780 It's got face and smile detection, a variety of shooting modes including a smile shutter and "Beauty Mode" which automatically removes spots and blemishes on people's faces, an image stabilizer, "Smart Light" setting that adjusts brightness, and an ISO 1600 which is unheard of in camera phones. It also comes with a unique "Smart Bluetooth" function which can turn the phone into a mobile webcam. That's a bucket load of functions that truly set the LG KC780 apart from the rest. As far as its other specs go, the LG KC780 packs a decently-sized 2.4-inch 240x320 QVGA display, FM radio, 140MB internal memory, triband GSM, GPRS/EDGE connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1, and an average 900 mAh battery. Yup, no 3G, WiFi and GPS but I guess those set of features only come secondary to its main function as a mobile camera which is probably why it got the boot in order not to jack up the cost significatnly. It'll be launched in Europe in November with other countries in Asia following thereafter. No word though on pricing, but one definitely sure, the LG KC780 has want it takes to take on another super camera phone, the recently launched Samsung's M8800 Pixon. I guess camera phones have indeed gone a long way since those VGA-equipped phones of yesteryear.

I've always had Nokia, Samsung or Blackberry phones, and must admit I wasn't looking forward to receiving this phone. It is absolutely amazing. I've had the phone for about 18 months - I chose to keep it when my 12 month contract ran out as I STILL haven't found a phone that tops this one (for MY needs, anyway). It has been dropped countless times, my toddler children have gotten hold of it with dribbly, chocolatey hands and it still works perfectly. I've never had any problems with it. I use it for both business and personal use.
